Thread: c2 gt steering rack ( electric or hydraulic )

    Default c2 gt steering rack ( electric or hydraulic )

    Likely Trek will answer this as there seems to be nobody around on the forum now

    do they c2 gt,s from 2003 have electric rack or hydraulic racks fitted and if you know Trek ( you will ) can you link me to what i need say on ebay or somewhere , this is the next job to do on the car after the clutch caper im having at the minute

    its defo the rack , had all the links ball joints etc replaced , there is play in the rack , car almost 20 years old

    it knocks like a pig going over any bumps , if you turn the wheel while hitting a speed hump the knock doesnt happen , defo the rack

    Have you looked at the front shock absorber top mounts?
    While it could be the rack or the tie rod ends the top mounts are a sh!tful idea and ware out all the time.
    If you can grab the big nyloc nut and move the shaft at all (even just a bit) the mount is stuffed.

    both brand new top mounts
