    Default hdi mods

I have a 1.4 hdi n was thinking about getting a bigger turbo put on it say a 1.6 one is this possible?

Also has anyone tried mounting their intercooler in front of the radiator or in any other positions rather than space beside the radiator?
if that is all said and done then get it remapped

Dont know about the turbo, but before you do try that you'll need an intercooler anyway, it can be put horizontal in front of the rad on a 207 which is the same engine but of course different bodywork so not seen it done on a C2 yet.

Its possible to get decent gains from fitting a 1.6 intercooler and remap though, have a search through the threads its been done successfully already.

Yeah my mate works for volvo and is thinking he could get me a intercooler at trade price but they don't do vertical ones so was just wandering if a horizontal one would fit. Ill wait till the weather dries up and have a look at the space in front lol
yeah iv seen the threads of it mounted vertically just interested in mounting it horizontally.

Hijacking my own thread but bump do you still have angel eyes on your car? im thinking about getting them but i can almost remember reading that yours broke so was wondering what ones to avoid?

Joing in same hijack, yes I do still have the Angels on - The bit to watch on Angel Eyes is the top bracket that attaches the light onto the car, it is very thin and brittle. I snapped mine but bodged a repair and its fine now 8) Only other thing thats 'gone'' on them are the led's in the halo rings, all four rings are out now 8O

The one that C2KEV put a link to is the one I put on my 1.4Hdi. As you can see from the sig, with that, and a K&N Panel filter, after the Red Dot remap mine got to 112BHP and 155 Lb/ft of torque. The thing to think about is how you will get the pipework to the intercooler. With mine mounted vertically in the gap it wasn't too bad to pipe.

    Hi Riky,
I'm getting around 58-59 around town driving sensible, around 52-53 when I'm playing and around 65 on the motorway at a constant 70. The tubing was bought from a local car spares shop, one bit (with the plastic bits on top) came from a scrapyard and the other bit leading to the turbo is the original pipe turned around so the bend was going the correct way. The metal elbows were borrowed from work !!!
