I've seen the wolfrace wheels on the simulator on there site, but oz racing didnt have a sim :(

Whats the site chappie? and does the simulator use a c2?

Been dying to get hold of some sort o simulator, as the alloys I'm looking at keep coming out at £700 a shot, want to get it right if I'm to neglect a whole room of furnishings in my flat , lol.

£700 for wolfrace? what size?

For some reason most the stuff I look at is dearer in 16's than 17's, Wolfrace, OZ's, and Fox's to name a few.

"which set o' rims would suite my blue mica c2?"

Actually its Poisdion isn't it? Probably another reason why I didn't have mine in blue, the prenounciation and spelling, lol.

But you need to have the speedo done and the suspension especially, or else the c2 divorses the road, lol. Got a flat to furnsih so gunna have to go with the sensible option.

hi all,

missus just phoned her insurance regarding upgrading wheels to alloys, and they said it would cost an extra £80 to have them added.

is this about right or are they taking the peees? cheers :)

Richmets
20-08-2005, 02:33 AM
not bad, mine went up £90 and a mate of mines went up twice that when he put alloys on his golf!

Danny
20-08-2005, 02:36 AM
Sounds about right then, they didnt even ask what type/size or value............must be just a standard amount then (Admiral)

Richmets
20-08-2005, 02:44 AM
make sure they know that youve got locking wheel nuts. My mum sorts out my insurance for me and didnt know so they were gonna put £160 on my insurance. i think the price depends upon how much they cost, mine were about £500 i think.

Danny
20-08-2005, 02:47 AM
That's what i couldn't understand, they didnt even ask the value???? Strange that.

The 'foreigner' on the other end of the phone said 'it would go up 70 odd quid, not because of the wheels, but because the car would be more of a target for thieves with alloys on.

BigOL
20-08-2005, 03:00 AM
Thats the standard reason the insurers will give to up the premium for alloys.

Even with alloys I can't see why they bump you cos the car has alloys in the first place and if they get nicked then the insurers will have to replace them, so why do someone over who has alloys and wants to change them to something a bit nicer.

Richmets
20-08-2005, 03:01 AM
Wierd, im sure that the price it goes up by depends upon how likely they are to be stolen, due to their price which usually corresponds to SIZE and BRAND. No offence to anyone but it is frustrating to speak to a person in india everytime i call Norwich Union Direct who has most likely never seen what an alloy wheel looks like!

Danny
20-08-2005, 03:01 AM
Furio only has standard 15's, not alloys :(

BigOL
20-08-2005, 03:07 AM
Yeah I know blue, but I was just saying even alloy people get bumped.

I think they do ask the price just to gauge what likely ones they are and more importantly how much they will be hit for replacements if necessary.

Danny
20-08-2005, 03:09 AM
And we are still un-decided on 16's (the safer option) or 17's (possible warranty void) and we are hoping to get some tomorrow :(

Richmets
20-08-2005, 03:12 AM
17's all the way! i think i probably voided my warranty tho when i silicon welded my spoiler on. which rims did you decide on in the end?

BigOL
20-08-2005, 03:15 AM
Get 17" suit the car and arch so so much better. If you get a wheel and tyre that are within 0.5kg of the factory ones, then they can't justifiably stick you with void suspension warranty as you have not increased the circumferance mass which causes most of these troubles with aftermarket alloys and suspension problems when peeps stick heavier wheels on than factory which increases the momentum and weight of the wheel, so accelleration and braking is affected.

Danny
20-08-2005, 03:16 AM
we haven't, going to look at wheelmania and topgear tomorrow to hopefully make final choice.

oz titans, mania brroklyns and wolfrace hybrid are looking most likely but never know what they might have in the stores compared to the web :)

Danny
20-08-2005, 03:17 AM
I haven't a clue of the standard weight let alone the ones we may be getting: :(

BigOL
20-08-2005, 03:19 AM

20-08-2005, 03:29 AM

20-08-2005, 03:35 AM
Cheers guys...................now the    bit, how you fold the seats down? never had reason to do it yet ;)

BigOL
20-08-2005, 03:39 AM
Between the rear seats in the middle are levers, push them forward from the boot way and push seat back forward.

Danny
20-08-2005, 03:40 AM
:D:D:D even i can manage that .............hopefully! :)

Richmets
20-08-2005, 03:43 AM
and if it wasnt for a ridiculous piece of design the seats would fold behind the front seats - there is a black bar handle under the rear seats which upon pulling up unclips the seat so they can be pushed forward and downward behind the front seats.

PLEASE NOTE THIS ONLY WORKS WITH NOBODY IN THE FRONT SEATS (OR OOMPA LOOMPAS)

BigOL
20-08-2005, 03:48 AM

And only if you have the comfort pack fitted with digi air con and folding mirrors. Rear seats that fold into the rear passenger footwells is not a standard option!! Or is it the sliding rear seat option that also has the folding option, either way its not a standard feature AFAIK

I think you would be pushed to find them cheaper, some places are still selling Suzuka at 600+.

They should fit fine.

mine are 4x108 ET16 and i think they can be anything from ET15 - 25.

BigOL
21-08-2005, 11:25 PM
Suzuka's are the VTS alloy? Or which ones are you looking at?

ET or Offset as its more commonly known is the distance the wheel is spaced from the hub. The number 15 is the millimetres of distance.

If the suzuka's are VTS wheels then they will fit straight on with no spacers or anything. Only thing you might need is the alloy bolts from Citroen as there are two types of bolts one for steelies and alloys.

Wolfrace Suzuka's ;)
