Panel Filters

Since i am selling the simota, i fancy trying a panel filter to see how much better they are if anything.

Whats the diffrence between Green and K&N Panel Filter for the 1.6 C2?

Green Panel (http://www.potn.co.uk/p1514458.htm)

K&N Panel (http://www.potn.co.uk/p1506494.htm)

I Fancy the green filter out of the 2, But what would you lot recomend?
If you have used one of the above was there any diffrence compaired to the std one?

I've always used replacement K&N's on my other cars, as they tend to filter better than standard paper elements. Power gains are probably a bit dubious, unless you compare to a used paper element. On the plus side, they hardly ever need cleaning (they work just as well when dirty) and it is one less thing to do at a service.

Having looked at the green ones, I think the only difference is the colour!

i got a k&n and i have to agree with andy....saw no diference in power at all!! the only up side it you dont have to replace it , just wash it and ur off!!

Sorry to bring an old topic up, Is it really worth replacing the stock filter with a branded one such as K&N, Green or pipercross?

Sound a pipercross filter for the 1.6 C2 :)

Would i see any gains if any with any of the 3? i dont fancy a indi kit...

I also heard that K&N dont offer 100 filtration like the stock one does

found this if that helps.

no bhp gains will be seen from a panel filter although its healthier for the car. The difference between a panel filter and an induction kit (be it closed or open) is noticable when combined with other mods.

Quite recently I had a 4-1 manifold and straight through exhaust put on the C2....had a bmc on. Decided to try OEM airbox and must say that the OEM airbox feels better - more pull! Downside is that with the OEM airbox, top speed dropped by about 5mph! nicx
