Compression test it , try it with a sniff of aero start , see if it’s a fuelling problem , have you got good fuel pressure on the rail, can you hear the fuel pump running when you turn ignition on

Checked the timing belt? Why the F#*k don't they put an inspection flap on the timing belt cover!!!!!!!!!! The little 1.4 engine only has 2 bolts holding the cover on so you can inspect the belt easily.

The fuel pump is controlled by the engine ECU and wont pump unless the engine is "turning over".
There is an access hatch to the fuel pump under the rear seats. You can remove it to better hear if the pump is running while you crank the engine over.

As Trek said try Aero Start or the like. This will tell you if you have ignition. If it wont start on starting fluid then its most likely electrical. ECU, wiring, connector, ETC. If it does start you are back to the fuel system.

It's unlikely to be compression, that doesn't happen over night unless you have blown the engine up (and you'd have to be doing something naughty to do that). Even a blown head gasket doesn't happen over night.

Has this just happened? No hint of trouble before this? Loss of engine power, hesitation, failed to start before? Inexplicable coolant loss? Exhaust smoke? Anything out of the ordinary? Have you owned the car for a while? Changed the keys, radio, anything?

It’s loeb 1.6 ,with any petrol C2 if you turn the ignition on you will hear the fuel pump charge the pressure line then stop, soon as the engine fires the fuel pump then runs continuously

I'm glad you cleared that up. In your first post you gave readers the opinion that the pump ran continuously with the ignition on. It would have confused the original poster to have the fuel pump not run with the ignition on.
