Default Citroen C2 S1600 Rally Car

    Hello all

Just joined the group and thought i would share some pics of my new C2 S1600 rally car.
The car started life as a C2 VTS and has been modified by Colin Satchell Engineering. The engine has been lowered and moved to a more central position.
The drive shafts are custom built as are the bottom arms and the rear suspension has been modified and the car has been widened all round. It has a BE 4 gear box with Colin Satchell short shift kit.
CBR 1000 Throttle bodies and an omex ecu so i am hoping that it will be around 180 bhp. Not loads but enough for me for. My previous C2 was all standard and about 115 bhp so i should feel the difference here.

Sadly the MSA have told me that I am not able to use the rear spoiler as its not a genuine product, so i will probably put it up for sale.
I am however looking for a genuine spoiler so if anyone knows of the correct model please could you let me know.

    Thanks for looking

Sadly the MSA haven't heard the term "if it looks like a duck and quaks like a duck, in all probability its a duck!", rather it seems they need the part to be made by Citroen Sport (or is it Boutique Citroen Racing?) and carry the appropriate markings...
If that criteria were to be applied to all rally cars there wouldn't be many left to go rallying...

The Boutique Citroen Racing website lists part reference 3R5M60337A as the appropriate spoiler, which from the diagram looks just like yours...

Link is as follows http://boutique.citroenracing.com/do...id_rubrique=74 schroll down until you spot 'K9A Bodyshell' and that contains the reference.

If by any chance you feel so inclined, I for one would be interested in seeing some pictures of the front and rear suspension setups, as well as the underbonnet layout. I'm always eager to blag some ideas off other peoples cars.

What are you plans for competing, you never know our paths may cross at some point, mind you with over 50 bhp more than me I'm only ever going to be watching your rear bumper disappearing into the distance...
My other rally car is a Nova (upside down on a spit...)!

Hi Thanks for the information its much appreciated, after several chats with the MSA scrutineer that looked at the car we have found the correct size spoiler. It is not a genuine one but the MSA have said if it looks the same they will be happy. I convinced them of this because Citroen do not make the unit anymore.

Happy to send you some pictures let me know the best way to do this for. Regards rallying, I will take part in The Southdown Stages at Goodwood on Saturday 10th Feb and hopefully another single venue event at Bovington Army camp in March, Failing that i will def be at Down Ampney again as they generally have 3 events a year up there.

Let me know what you are up too, maybe we could have a coffee and a chat at an event.

    Thanks

    Chris

Looks like I'll be marshaling on the Southdown Stages as the entry filled up within hours of it opening. I did the November Bovington event, but suffered some self inflicted car maladies which included a puncture, still enjoyed the event but some more power would be nice

I'll be sure to look you up in the service area at the lunchtime break on the Southdown, Cheers Dave

Hi Chris. Sorry I didn't get around to introducing myself at the Southdown Stages, I did find the car in the service area before the start and chatted breifly with (John?) Dale (Justin's father...) as his grandson struggled to undo the rather overtightened wheel nuts on tha car.
I didn't like to interupt you as the usual pre-event jitters seemed to be taking hold, what with scrutineering, signing on and drivers briefings to be got through.

Sadly I too had to attend a marshals briefing then get out on post ready for the start, I had hoped to get back to see you during the lunchbreak, but that too wasn't to be and by the time i got back into the service area after the event you'd sensibly packed up and gone home.

It was nice to see you finished the event without incident, better still you left our chicane alone during the event! From the side lines it looked like you where getting quicker as the day wore on, even if the cold and wet conditions were not exactly condusive to expoiting the cars handling.

You service area neighbours in the black C2 where certainly on it for most of the day, pity they had a problem on the penultimate stage which robbed them of the class win and a finish very close to the top ten.

Though I wasn't able to take a good nosey around the car, your front suspension set up was definately of interest, it'd be nice to take a good look around the car so if you make it out on Bovington I might see you there. Alternatively if your based close to the Dale's operation (are they still in Stockbridge, Hampshire) maybe I could drop by to take a more relaxed look around the car (mine is located in the Salisbury area)?

    Cheers, Dave
