Yeah, Adam from DS3Club went from a NA 120bhp to a Golf R. Bet that was a welcome change! His reg is 800AR if you know of it. It was black with gold details, now all black.

Do you have any plans for this?

I've seen many pictures of that, its why i want one!

i had ordered h&r coilovers but cancelled them while i decide if I'm going to keep the polo for longer or save a deposit on something new again.. but if i keep it then chances are it'll go on air ride and a list of performance mods

Yeah, there was some comments on his IG when he lowered it. The R has been set up and designed in such a way that gets the best performance from the car. Depending on what you want from the car, some said he had just thrown all of the effort VW had put into the R's.

    His wheels sit nice though

    Small updates,

got the polo fitted with a forge dump valve and induction kit along with a milltek exhaust system. Going to order the downpipe and sports cat for the exhaust once I'm back off holiday..
but along with the polo i got myself a old vw lupo tdi for my commute to work (50miles per day) which will save me money on fuel, but mainly keep the milage on the gti lower so i don't spoil it!
once the funds look bit more healthy after buying the lupo the polo will be spoiled with goodies and performance upgrades!

excuse the rubbish image, taken at Cambridge services while half asleep

This looks like the type of car. No-one with any taste in cars would buy.

You've bought the Lopo to keep the miles down on the Polo? Stop being silly, you buy a nice car to drive, not to keep it nice for the next owner. Bummer

its mostly down to the cost of the mileage, 300 miles a week in the polo would be around 60 but the lupo only costs 30..
so in that respect I'm saving money on the value, fuel costs and also insurance.

i do understand why youve done it (everyones ideal situation is to have a nice daily and a project ready and waiting for you) but i wouldnt be able to resist driving the GTI everyday. the lupo would feel somewhat boring and id think "damn i wish i was in the polo!"

i do that everyday, just think shit i could've passed that lorry if i had the gti... but in some respects thats a good thing because it means i actually stick to the speed limit and do a decent MPG rate on my way to work instead of overtaking all the time! its has its benefits and downfalls to both sides.

bigs plans for the polo when I'm back from holiday and sort a few things out on the lupo once i have the money

Not been on here for a while now, been looking at possibly getting a C2 track project as i only live a mile from cadwell park and after taking the polo on track want to look into doing it more often! few updates recently, sold the lupo and thrown more money into the polo

So far I've done Forge intercooler, dump valve and air intake along with a full milltek exhaust system. Also lowered on H&R ultra low coilovers.

Then on Monday i took the car down to AMD Essex for a remap which made 215bhp on the dyno however they said with it being dsg the on the road power output would be hiher

Plans next is to swap the forge dump valve for a recirculation valve to keep the turbo pressures up. Change the wheels and then send the car in for bodywork to tidy a few bits up..
however unsure on the colours for the wheels and little bits on the car? thinking dark wheels and black all the details or go complete opposite and go white wheels and white details?

How can on the road power be higher than engine power. You're always going to lose some power in the drivetrain. Also have you mapped the gearbox yet?

Doesnt DSG just change gears quicker? cant see why it would give more power

You can map the box to make the change faster and enabled launch control if it's not already but pretty sure it's standard on Polo Gtis

DSG doesn't make it quicker, they don't have the right dyno apparently to run a DSG to max rpm so the end result over the print out is increased... they can map the gearbox to increase torque and remove restrictions like the launch control settings etc but not on my model/year

I went looking for one of these, exactly the same colour, had the one i wanted the lot. Started reading online and all i could see what "catastrophic engine failure" "engine drinking oil like its petrol"
