    Default sevenfourates Loeb #337

Well im already using some of the great info here and as ive just subscribed to the site, i thought id start a progress thread. Got no real plans.....so we will see where this goes.

Couple of weeks ago i got rid of this which was an utterly brilliant and reliable car despite its pretty big spec, and i took it from 14'000 to nearly 90'000 miles:

And bought one of these, which seemed like logical progression for a cheap, fun 'work car' (And one ive just had a good cleaning / polishing session on this weekend):

Decided the aerial was pig-ugly, so bought one of these immediately:

And the wheel centre-caps were looking a little tired,; so i removed. stripped, cleaned, applied grey primer, satin black and then satin lacquer to the centres before re-assembling:

Despite being freshly MOT'd.......the tester was obviously blind or dead. Or both. And missed this:

So the 'modding' has duly started with a full Piper stainless system being fitted Wednesday.

And i cant stop looking at 17" wheels on ebay. Im not going to be able to hold the urge back for long.................

It wasnt actually made by K+N. Was a Carbon Induction kit i came across on POTN, with a K+N sticker to 'jazz it up' after the original came off......

    Cheers.

I paid a little OTT for it, but got new discs and pads upfront in the deal, along with new front tyres, full MOT, 6 months tax, and a 6 month comprehensive warranty inc breakdown and home-start.

And it has just one lady previous owner with 30'000 miles and full Citroen history......

    +1 to that.

by the sounds of it and how it looks it looks like a cone filter attached to an enclosed carbon induction ? wouldn't that be more restrictive? (unless we are getting the wrong end of the stick here haha)

fair enough, it was the confusion in your message before hand saying about the carbon induction as they are usually enclosed kits/look similar to what you have on.

Theres no confusion. Its a carbon induction tube that leads to the filter. You made up the rest all by yourself..... :o

    Anyway. Enough of the Paxo..............

Sounds lovely. Little deeper, but not obtrussive and doesnt drone at all. The garage who i had fit it said - "....it might have been made that way to make sure it doesnt drone at higher speeds, with the exit a little way out the back".

    Mmmmmmm.......not convinced still.

My wheels have some paint issues - and it bugs me. Been watching a few sets on ebay, but as i have 4 really good tyres....a set of 16's made sense. These might not be the most fashionable, but what a price i got them for !

Most if not all custom exhaust back boxed stick out that far, they sit perfect with the lester valance as this sits out in a very subtle way and looks like it's supposed to

THATS the worry - squeeze it in a bit more to hide it.......and curves in the exhaust might then touch a bend etc on the chassis underneath and rattle / vibrate.

After looking at it and weighing up my options, i think my best option is to turn it into a slash-cut, which would mean i could cut it back closer to; and at the same angle as the back bumper without having to risk it 1/ Vibrating if i move the exhaust, or 2/ The hangars not lining up or 3/ Having to cut off the tip and re-weld it......

SO: To slash-cut or not to slash-cut ???

It was 'ok' to be fair. Some local 2-bit stations with a poor signal went a bit fuzzy.

But its worse still today now ive fitted one of these lol
