Well a couple of meets have been mentioned but nothing had actually taken off, (South East due to people having more important things come up and Midlands because the proposer has not been heard of since) so before Winter sets in and the dark nights who is likely to want to really make the effort?

Was possibly thinking of somewhere between the Midlands and the South East as this is where a lot of members seem to be situated, or if there are a decent number of Northern members, somewhere in or around the Midlands. (personally we don't mind travelling, just trying to keep everyone happy :) )

Suggestions for some kind of activity would be appreciated, something not too expensive (to keep everyone interested) but not just a burger at Maccy's. Needs to be worthwhile due to costs people will incure in Fuel, Food/Drink and an Activity.

Input most welcome from all members, but please try to keep to topic or this will only get locked! :)

Good thinking batman,

I would suggest High Wycombe its in-between for probably 70% of people that would come and its straight of the M40. I live there during the student term time so i know the area very well, there are a few good roads around and there is a really big dry ski slope where we can meet and mess about (its the biggist in south). They have a bar and cafe aswell, so you can please yourselfs. Its then 30 mins thrash to guildford cruise in the evening to park up and drool over some hot cars.

HIGH WYCOMBE (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=485000.087878519&Y=195000.012722099&width=500&height=300&gride=486742.087878519&gridn=192951.012722099&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=freegaz&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&zm=1&scale=2000000)

Right then,

Sunday 2nd October,

Meet between 10 and 11

11:30- go for thrash round countryside

13:00- Get to ski slope, mess about have lunch etc,

16:00- Get some pics in before it gets dark,

16:40- On to Guildford,

17:20- Gather and park up early to see all the old american cars,
Hot cars will arive at about 7 onwards, there is a Burger King for
Food etc,
Leave when you want to.

If it's sking you want then come here to the Snowdome at Tamworth, proper skiing, although in the 10 or more years it's been open, i've never been

Glad to see an idea at last, keep them coming in. ;)

Another great Activity a lot might be interested in is: Go Ape, Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire or there is one in Thetford Forest??

More info here: Go Ape (http://www.goape.co.uk/Pages.asp?M=1&Page=29)

I reckon that would be a great place to go :D

Sherwood Forest = £16.00 + £2.00 parking
Thetford Forest = £18.00 + £4.00 parking

These prices are for 18+
£4-5 cheaper for 10-17 years old

Course takes 2-3 hours to complete so good value for money

;)

May have to book a few weeks in advance and best avoid the Half term school holidays about 3rd week in October.

Go ape would be fun but it would have to be next year cause it opens next may. I'm gonna be on crutches for a couple of months so i'll watch

Apologies Crotch, was thinking more on members locations than abilities.

Could possibly join in before and after, expect my missus would watch too ;)

I can do Thetford any time. Sherwood I will have to get back to you on. The Pug people are organising their 2nd meet now sometime in November. I will say that I most probably won't be able to do both if you decide on Sherwood, due to time off constraints (work on call most weekends) and fuel costs.

I will see what I can do, I will do my best.
