I'll average around 39mpg in my GT which has BMC CDA air filter, cituning manifold and magnex exhaust system. I'm not that heavy footed but do like to thrash it every now and again, just to listen to the exhaust singing. I do use super unleaded fuel which is supposed to give you better mpgs :D

i can actually compare here. my old VTR did 19mpg average.....despite it being reset every month....it just went back to 19!
does this mean the engine wasnt run in properly by the 1st owner?

Its so annoying...The most i've ever got was 35MPG n that was on a motorway journey from Bristol to Birmingham.
Just seem's to drink petrol.
Tempted to switch to a bigger engine, wouldn't mind it doing 29MPG then :(

I have a 08 1.6 HDi 110bhp and only getting 55.4 mpg outa it despite doing 60mph on motorways over 1100 miles!
According to the manual combined of the 1.6 should be 62 i am expecting 58 59 minimum as i am quite a cautious easy driver 99% of the time! So asking the garage tomorrow wtf is the deal missing 5 mpg which for me that drives 60 miles a day is quite a difference!
Had a 1.1 Hyundai getz before doing the same journey driving in the same style that was doing 55 MPG that is the quoted combined for the car.
go figure lol!!

Resetting computer, freewheeling down a hill for 500 yards, then using that reading doesnt count! :)
What kinda journeys is that Greg? Motorway, urban or combined?
I struggled to keep it above 44mpg , doing 60 on an A-Road. Think i ended with 42 mpg, average speed 53 Mph..

lol i just do mainly 60mph everywhere, not that much motorway driving. I know its really good on fuel for some eason, but only have a filter no exhaust sytem but that will come soon so bye bye mpg lol
