MEET! Rutland Water April 10th 2010

Right then thought i'd get a proper thread about this meet going.

From what people are saying we are going to do this on sunday april 11th, meet at 2 have a chat take some pictures (so any of you that are into photography bring a decent camera cause mine is crap lol) go for a walk or what ever you fancy.

The adress of the place to put in the sat-nav is:
Anglian Water Bird Watching Centre, Oakham, Leicestershire,
Oakham, Leicestershire LE15 8BT

And from the look of google maps that postcode will take you down Hambleton Road in Egleton

Parking is £4 for the day which is pretty good to be fair, and depending on weather people can either bring food with them and eat it there picnic style or we could go find a pub or something for lunch.

oh by the way, the exact location for the meet? Rutland water is pretty big after all... lol.

Personally I would suggest where the arrow is on the map below because its a MASSIVE car park. Though other suggestions are more than welcome since i've only been to the place once.

Set your sat navs for roughly LE15 8PX. That's not an exact pin point location but nearby. If you're approaching from the Oakham direction then you travel along the A606, drive through and past Whitwell then it's on your right a mile or so after sign posted "rutland water tourist centre" or something like that with the big tourist information symbol, if you end up driving through Empingham then you've missed it :p .

it may be a bit far for some but there is a run what you brung style day at shakespear raceway in stratford...so was gonna see what people are up for that on the 15th and 16th of may ill only be going the one day i think but you can camp for the weekend, if people are interested ill get more details for you, only one thing that is a bit of an arse ache is that you have to wear a helmet to go down the strip
