Hey lads (and possibly lasses?)

I'm going to look at 2 C2's tomorrow

one is a senso drive VTR (which i have heard terrible things about) and the other is a 1.6 GT..

Now the GT has 63k on the clock, and my french car spidey senses tells me that its gonna have problems..

anythings to look out for at that kind of mileage?

Also, the VTR has low mileage at 20k, but is slightly dearer than the GT for this... would you all say steer clear?

cheers
danny

Welcome aboard :)

Best advise would be to test drive the VTR. Some people love them some people hate them so best to just give it a try. Theres nothing wrong with them though.
63k.... id check it out. Its not especially high mileage for a car a few years old and we have had ones with a lot higher on here and they have been fine. Let us know how you get on :)

You usually find the people who have bad things to say about VTR's are ones who have never driven one...

Had the pleasure of driving a VTR, a Furio Senso and a VTS manual and gearchange wise I'd choose the Sensodrive every time ! :)

Hmm the only thing putting me off is the 1.5 second slower to 60 than a manual!! :(

Does that really matter though ? How many times will you be going 0 - 60 in REAL life ?

I took mine on trackdays and it was a constant pain in the GT and VTS bums *smug*

on the gt check the clutch out, iv seen a supprising amount of Gts need new clutchs around 35-40k. but if its 65k then would have thought it woulld have been done by then tho but it may be something to keep in mind. then obviously do normal your checks. things like panel gaps are normally a sure sign its had a bump, which could lead to other problems eg ball joints, track rod ends, drop links, tracking, ect ect ect.

vtr i heard abit about people having problem selecting gears, something to do with the gear box or the ecu, but i dont really know much about it, best just to drive in both modes to make sure ur happy with it.

Wow that goes a long way, bought an astra over a c2, is there a more boy-racer gimpish car (other than a corsa) ?

Even still half the little tramps that drive them sit with their seat the furthest back and lowest it goes, so they can hardly see over the steering wheel, reach the pedals, and only look out their window to see who is looking at them, then drive them like they are super cars, one word, FAIL, sorry two words, EPIC FAIL
