Ive recently ordered a gsr induction kit, however having seen what has been written on the C2 sports club forum i feel asthough ive made a mistake. Who has one on here and what do you think of it? especially if you have a Vts as this is what i have. Thankyou

What mistake have you made then? (What have they said..)

Its by far the best induction kit around, purchase another if you want and go along to a Rolling Road, test both.. I know which you'll be sending back.

Like you said, that you know of.

Before anything starts, there will be no slagging people off or companies, if any of that starts the thread will be removed.

GSR is a good product mate, i don't think youll regret it :)
it's probaly not the best material or the best looking but it's given most poeple the best performance.

if you dont like it sell it, youll probaly get nearly full price for it :)

Whatever happened to the BMC filters that were the "must have" item of 2006/7?

I got mine down at a rolling road day.. I know Pete had alot of problems with couriers and things though.

GSR is basically one man, Pete, so he may take a while to reply to things as he doesn't just do C2 bits either.

Or atleast used to when at RedDot.

I never thought anyone had any complaints about GSR, they were as I've read a lot of times the best anyones had for their C2, though to be fair BMC and K&N Typhoon are also highly rated.

i belive hes still in germany atm, he said recently on pc2 that itll be at least a week befor a GT induction kit is made. not sure if that because hes away or if somethings up with the ovens.

best bet really is to go on pc2 and ask maksimi, hes alot more in the know.

also have you told him that youv payed? hes needs to comferm it befor he even starts making the kits.

i personally dont rate the GSR induction kit from a performance point of view as to where its mounted, it maybe does the job power wise, but the location of where it gets put is particularly baffling (behind the engine on vts models)

that causes a good few problems with regards to heatsoak etc i would think, i can understand doing it for a space issue kind of view, but personally, if your running say a 4-2-1 manifold etc, heatwrap it, fit the kit where the normal filter sits round that way as close to the front as possible, and add a heat shield to the side of it so that it pushes the hot air from the engine bay away from it.

ive not done a lot of research into the gsr name having never heard of it until recently, but for some reason it just doesnt add up why theyre put at the rear of the engine, speaking to fellow tuners as well it just doenst add up.

on a plus note, they do sound good and quality of them seems to be top notch however!

It's there because air gets forced against the bulkhead and goes upwards when driving along, so the filter is perfectly placed.

Heatsoak.. Abit, but unless your intake manifold is at the front of the engine and you've TB Trumpets sticking out your grille i'd imagine you'll always get heat soak.

true jonny, i suppose that with the solid front grilles on c2's as well it doesnt help airflow going INTO the engine bay, so that would be why its been put there. a little heatshield on the side closest to the block might help as well perhaps to stop more heatsoak than what comes back that way maybe?

heatsoak will happen regardless of what engine you get or have, but controlling the amount is always vital to a good strong engine.

was it all GSR kits that sit behind the engine bay or just higher spec ones mate?

GSR kits are made to order and can take up to 4 weeks to recieve, although mine took 9 weeks due to courier problems.
I had a pipercross viper on my VTS before and the GSR is a better kit.

Neil the GT kits sit behind the right foglight although its passes close to the manifold not sure on where the other kits sit.

I ordered my GSR induction kit on the 11th March and havent heard a thing from Peter since. An administrator on the forum I used to contact him said he'd moved to India but didn't have any contact details for him - if anyone knows where Peter is or how to contact him i'd be grateful if you posted them here.

He was quick to reply to my emails when arranging payment, but he's not responded since, which is a worry.

I'm hoping the delay is nothing to worry about but I wanted to let others know before you consider ordering yours.

Cheers

The wait and lack of info is a bit of a nightmare but be patient you will get it in the end, it is harder work for pete because he's not based in this country any more and he's a one man team so things take a while but he's no conman so you don't need to worry. Pete as a person is alway late but the kit is worth the wait I promise

He's a swell dude. It's not the best way to do business, but he's providing a good piece of kit.
