Phil.. skip the bora and passat they are boring :P.. if your looking for a VAG TDi around £5k it would have to be the Furby v/RS

Vrs?..?
skoda fabia vrs - 130bhp and around 238 lb/ft iirc? can be remapped to 170bhp and 350+ lb/ft or something like that. its basically the other triplet to the polo and ibiza. only thing i dont like is they only come in 5 door :\

they are only a 1.5 or a 1.6 so its not that bad really
fabia vrs, octavia vrs, seat leon TDi, Focus TDCi, Mondeo ST220 TDCi, Fiesta Zetec S TDCi, BMW 5 series Diesel.
regards to coopers for petrol, boot the crap out them and they will DESTROY your wallet very fast mate, especially the cooper S, theyre not that great on fuel ive found.
fire into autotrader what you want, or pistonheads mate, you'll be surprised what comes up!

what about a corsa SRI?
i had a corsa before the c2 mate, i know the interior of the c2 is plastic and french but the corsa was even worse, had so many problems with it aswell. but then again thers always a few rubbish ones in every batch, they are quite nice to drive but i couldnt have another corsa again. (unless it was a VXR obv).
