2000 Fiat Seicento Sporting 1.1i

You've heard me talk about it but youve never seen it, so I though I would post some pics.

Got the engine and gearbox problems sorted now. Pics from 2006.

And yes its Yellow!!!

Great first car but im after more power now, nearly 22 so can insure a lot better for the same money.

A fun car to drive as its so lite!!!

Think it could do with a bit more dash, would help if it had a glove box.

Passenger airbags was only an option in mainland europe, not here, weird. Hence the big gap in the dash on the passenger side

My EX used to have one of these. Nice Revy little things off the mark, but hurendous engine layout.

Expect HGF and cooling issues in hot weather. My EX went through a HG and a Water pump while she had hers.

Also, most were re-called back to Fiat for a fuel tank replacement as after a few years they coroded and leaked fuel, BADLY!

But as i said, nice and revy, great fun to drive, easy to get sideways with a bit of handbreak and full throttle.

Have fun with it!

Yeah last summer had a major engine problem due to the coolent system failing, about £600 later and its running perfect now. Work included new radiator, switches and head gasket.

All good now!!!

Want my advice?

I would (at least once a month) flush the water out and blead the coolant system. I did this for my EX's car as she was starting to go through RADs and sensors.

Second time round you might have to have the head skimmed which will cost too much. IMO best little car FIAt have made for years, the new Panda (which my ex had after the Seicento) is horse manure with Lacquer. Acceleration is DIRE, Interior and look is ghastly, Corners feel like your ona park bench, etc. I've not tried the sporty or 4x4 vsn's, they might be better,

Nice little run about them, glad someone doesn't find em too eratic to drive.

Had to drive one from Dudley to Cannock once (a sporting,) it squeeled all the way lol.

Some nice touches in the interior though, and affordable to drive.

 Mark

Had the head skimmed and all the system blead.
So shouldnt have anymore problems, touch wood.

Bet his handbrake is rubbish, seicento all go through them every 6 months.

Other common problems are the clutch cables snapping (not expensive to fix) and head gaskets going(more costly).

i dont like the seicento because of how unsafe they are but the sporting looks like a nippy little car.

Yeah.... real beast. My friend build a 1.2 turbo CCS :D Around 120-130 bhp on soft turbo. That was awsome.... Other friend swaped 1.2 16v from Fiat Bravo - finally over 110 bhp. But one racing garage made a rallycross car with.... 1.6 16v almoust 200 bhp :D

Bumping because ive just sold it. Sad day because it was my first car. Gearbox and engine knackered yet got 500 for it which I thinks a good return as this is what I was offered part ex when it was working fine last year.
