Hi everyone. I'm looking to buy a C2 but can't decide which one, I either want a VTR or a VTS or a GT.
Help me out, which should I buy?
I'm looking for a nippy little hot hatch.....

VTR FTW!
best all rounder is the VTS, not that much more on insurance and price and very widely avaliable new and used.

I take it you are looking at second hand c2's if you are looking at the gt?

if you have a choice...the VTS is the most obvious one ;)

I have VTR 1.6 senso for about year and its a nice , quite fast car, but if will going to buy again C2 (i will be stiupid) then i'll go for VTS. This geabox (mean aoto clutch) makes me sick time to time.
VTS got more power, uses less fuel and its..... VTS :)
But if u will find some GT for a good price - take it.

No i heard it through the grape vine! :?
but it must be true!
We need to know your requirments for the car really.
A 1.4 Furio would be nippy enough and look just like the VTR/VTS.
A 1.4 SX (availaible in several engines,) is also available looking just like the GT.
So unless your after the most powerful engine regardless of cost or runnning cost (VTS) we need to know more.

No, it says, "I'm looking to buy a C2" not why, and, "I'm looking for a nippy little hot hatch".
The 1.1 SX is nippy, and more kit than the GT, so we need to know stuff like, how old is he?, what can he afford?, how much does he have for insurance and petrol each month?, how many miles does he do a year?
Jumping straight to the top end sports models could end him up with a car he can't afford to run, and that's just sad.

I'm 18 and have about £5500 to spend so the VTS will have to be really worth the £1500ish extra than the VTR if I am to buy it.
Insurance on the VTR for me will be £1300 p.a and for the VTS will be about £1700 p.a (if you know of any good insurance companies then say!!!). I do about 6000 miles each year.
I want no less than one of the 1.6 engines because I want something that will leave other cars dead at the lights and be great FUN to drive. I get my kicks out of fast acceleration and driving fast.

The only thing i dont like about the GT is that it does not come with a sporty body kit like the VTR and VTS does. Also the GT is lighter than the VTR but at the expense of things such as fog light and a spare tyre...
Over all the GT and the VTR are similar prices but which would be best value for money and give me the biggest satisfaction when ive got the pedal to the metal??

on a track i reckon a vtr would be quicker .if you get a vtr try and get a mk2 as it has the improved gearchanges

I know you said no less than the 1.6's but test drive a 1.4 Furio First, as it's light weight (thanks to no spot lights or air-con,) and still very punchy.
All else fails, your choice is the GT (being lighter than the VTS) or (as the GT is probably only available second hand, unless you don't mind,) VTS with the same engine but some heavy creature comforts.
Good luck.
Didn't mention VTR as it's only 8v, and you like your kicks, then again it may be a snesible bridge between the 1.4 Furio and VTS.

Buy a GT, you don't need all the comforts of the other two and they're mega fun!

Ok, with the VTR you have mentioned a mk1 and a mk2...
What are the differences between them? And also which is better?
