First, thanks to all the guys who posted how to remove the rear panel. This post is just a clarification of what they have said.
Speakers:-
Some people seem to have an aversion to rear speakers and I respect their view (snigger). This post is if you do decide to change them or if you are just interested in how its done. I have also had a rant about speakers in my “how to change the front speakers" post. As with the front speakers there is not a lot of room between the inner and outer skins. The rear mounting holes are 145mm apart (diameter) and the hole depth not much more than 55mm. Most 5" (13cm) speakers should fit. If you choose “OEM replacement” speakers, you can't go wrong. As I said in my front speaker rant however, check all the dimensions BEFORE you buy.
For the record the speakers I installed were Clarion SRR1325s. They cost me $90 AUD (thats about Ł36).
On with the install.
If you have fixed rear seating, sorry, you'll have to unbolt and remove the seats. If you have folding seats your in luck. Slide and fold the front seats forward then fold the rear seats forward. Pop the retaining clip (on the floor end of the gas strut pivot) out and to the rear (don't pull the clip off completely). Remove the pivot/strut from the ball joint.

At the back (boot) of the rear interior panel you will see a round button retainer with a slot in it, undo it by hand you wont need a screwdriver.

Where the plastic inner panel clips into the steel inner skin, there are white separate clips. Where the plastic panel clips into another plastic panel there are hook shaped clips moulded into the plastic inner panel.

Pull the rear-most edge of the panel inwards and get your hand between the two panels.

Slide your hand upwards and pull the first clip inwards away from the smaller white panel. Pull the next clip from under the window. The next clip is rearwards of the speaker and the next, below the speaker. There are no clips at the bottom of the panel except at the bottom of the pillar moulding but there is a locating lug pointing downward underneath the “pocket. The top clips of the pillar moulding, clip into the white panel about half way up the door. These require a good pull to get them off. Same with clips at the bottom of the pillar. The panel should be free and by manipulating the front and rear seatbelts you should be able to move the panel out of the way (as in the photo above).

Drill the heads of the pop rivets off and remove the speaker. Here is a photo of the OEM speaker and the clarion speaker, note the size of the magnet on the rear.

I fitted the adaptor lead that I mention in the front speaker “how to. The attachment of the lead to the speaker does not have to be as elaborate as the front one because you don't have to worry about the window glass moving up and down. Again check the speaker is working. The lip of the speaker hole is rolled so fitting speed nuts may be difficult.

Again I pop riveted the speakers in place.

Now just pop the panel back in place. Pay attention to the locating lug under the pocket and the rubber moulding at the edge of the pillar/door. Use the clip locator, above, to knock the clips back in from the opposite side. If the panel rattles, check you have knocked all the clips home. Re-install your rear seat gas strut and that's about it.
