Been tempted to get an PS3 for a while now.

Not sure weather to get original Playstation 3 or New Slim Line PS3.

Definitely worth it mate, ive got the original (40gb) but i upgraded the hard drive to 250gb when i bought Play TV.

Wouldnt bother with the new one, looks like some bathroom scales imo, not a fan of it.

Dont want to start any arguments lol, but PS3 is definitely worth getting over an Xbox 360..

I was thinking the new slim mk2 looks abit cheap, got more gb space tho. but do you really need all that space?

you can upgrade the memory really easily and cheaply anyway, and j_westwood, whats the playtv actually like, ive thought about getting it since the built in freeview in my tv is crap

Play Tv is the same as freeview plus, but through ur PS3, but when u record programmes onto it, it doesnt compress them, an hour of a programme takes up about 1GB, so obviously if u record alot then u need alot of space!

Seriously wouldnt bother with the new slim one mate, get a proper one!!!

Theres more that takes up memory than just games on there.. they r bringing out the ability to download blu rays in november through the Playstation store!

ive filled my 40GB easily, I was suprised how quickly it filled up. Been meaning to fit a new HD for a while but dont really know how to do it.

I never knew the ps3 had that on it! Good argument for buying one in that case, i know the slimline one does look really cheap and horrible but for what it can do, im not too fussed about the way it looks. I think im going to have to get one now :)

Haha very good reason to get it!

They released the new firmware update yesterday and if u have Play Tv installed (there is a tv icon, like a movies, photos, game ect..) they have installed BBC iPlayer on it now! Well good.

Its the best quality freeview ive had, and i picked up more channels to watch with the booster that is supplied with it! Really good buy if imo.

my ps3 original has just had compleat hardwear failur after having it for 3 years. extended warentee ftw!!!!

and but its VERY easy to give your ps3 a bigger hard drive, the day befor mine broke i ordered a 500gb hard drive for it,

iv got play tv its mint, its basicly just freeeview but u can record it onto your ps3, (even works if you have something set and then turn ur ps3 off, it turns itsself on to record it and turns itself back off when its done)

also vidzone is good, has alot of music vids on, well into the10,000s id say by now.

I'd say get the Slim PS3 for the HDD. My 60Gb PS3 is almost full on just game saves.

I had 2 xboxs' but sold them both (20gb and Elite one) Got a PS3 and to be honest i regret it. So contemplating selling my PS3 and getting just an xbox arcade.

I have Play TV it is free apart from the purchase of the box (£69.99) that lets you record live tv etc. warning it soon fills space though so we stuck a 250gig hard drive in our PS3.. Great!

I have both, so i have the best of both worlds! Mainly on the 360 as none of my mates have ps3's. I love my PSP aswell! :D
