Check out the part no. given in the 1st post.
I'm sure if your local garage cant get it in, another one surely could?

what if you do not use the h/u stalk could you not change the plug over as it looks the same stalk?

I've popped into Citroen

It's about £18.5 + VAT for the stalk
They will activate it for £18
The expensive part is the cowling if you don't want to cut it, it can only be bought as an upper & lower cowel and costs £47 + VAT

I've got the parts on order and will hopefully get it activated before the weekend :)

never been a fan of cruise control to be honest. I understand it's good for motorway driving, but do we need another tool that aids in falling asleep :P , I would rather just keep my foot on the pedal.

Citroen Merthyr
Part - £48.50 dont know if thats including VAT
Activation - £67.50! WTF!

mrtomc2
07-09-2009, 02:53 PM
I've been told by 3 garages 38.50 wiv vat, 40 quid for activating

I've also been told as this is a easy mod its popular on vauxhalls and I should be able to shop around to get a cheaper than citroen activation cost

fingerpie
07-09-2009, 03:44 PM
It's getting activated tomorrow, they had to change when it was going in.
I've been quoted £18 for activation, think it depends on the dealership

Jeremy_VTR

I've got it as standard on my VTR. I'd recommend adding it for what's quite a reasonable cost, really.

Well the cruise control works but the speed limiter function does not and just going for a drive have found that the speed audible warning doesn't operate now. Will get it booked in at Citroen again for them to have a proper look at it.

mrpodolsk - does the speed limiter work on yours?

This should only work on fly by wire models. 1.1 and 1.4 models have a throttle cable, so it's a physical connection to the pedal.

scottc558
11-09-2009, 02:34 PM
dose that mean a 1.1 cant get this done?

i thought all c2s were fly by wire

so did i, if not then the throttle response is a bit slow for a cable

I might be wrong, but I'm 99% sure the 1.1 and 1.4 engine's have a throttle cable. Frankly I can't be chuffed to open my bonnet.

Now I know them all well at Thomas & Davies I got them loads of business and when I asked about having it done they wernt all that keen on doing it as if it went wrong I would have to pay as it wouldn't be covered under warranty as its not fitted as Standard.

I have only got the C2 now for just over a year so not worth doing now.

I liked Cruise Control on My C3 Exclusive mind when it didn't play up. I remember once my mk1 C3 sped up on its own and my brothers mk2 C3 Exclusive did.

Its ace for average speed cameras you can sit in the fast lane and drive past all the people doing 47-49 with a smug look i love it on mine and use it regularly

similar.

Think he means with the sensodrive

i can set mine in 3rd gear as slow as 20mph and if im in auto and increase the speed it will also go up the gears :D and go down to 4th from 5th if needed but in manual it will stay in whatever gear i tell it to

hope that answers his question

ozVTR
09-04-2011, 09:36 PM
If you have a Mk1 VTR without cruise control, you need to get the steering wheel with CC buttons then get Citroen or Peugeot to activate the cruise control.
If another version of your model of C2 ever came with CC it may be possible to install it.

It will only work on C2s with a 1.6 litre petrol engine and easiest to perform on sensodrive versions.
