I thought it might be interesting to run a poll in parallel with TG's best ever driving song to see what the C2 club would choose, as a subgroup of the greater TG viewing public.

not a fan of any of tose songs particularly, showing my age i guess. would have to be queen if i had to pick

they're classic songs... but i dont see them as good driving songs. Not enough pace in them if that makes sense....

I agree that more imagination could have been shown. I was up the A34 Wilmslow bypass earlier with some trance on and I was flyin'... One of those moments when you're glad to be alive and free (ish) with a good car, an open road and some good music.

But the TG list is a shortlist from the nominations they had. It reflects their typical viewer I suppose (i.e. 35+ with a 70s music bias).

I had eventually got past some old bloke in a Berlingo just before that idyllic moment, and then as I slowed down to the legal limit I saw the blue flashing lights in the mirror! Where did le cochon come from? But luckily he was passing us to somewhere more important (like his tea break) and he wasn't after me.

i would have to go for born to be wild out of that lot, not really my taste in music. Why the hell meatloaf! hate that song!

yea quite funny james may's hate for the loaf. Prob born to be wild for me, but again not my first choice.

highwaystar for me. cant beat ian gillans vocals and ritchie blackmores nifty guitar work not to mention ian paice, roger glover or jon lord!! deep purple are one of my all time favourite bands! 8) altho not to keen on the new line up. cant beat the old mk2b line up!
