Can all Midlands members please PM me (Cozzi) with your home postcode, so i can put you on the new 'C2Club Members' map.
This will enable me and everyone to take a central location when organising club meets and seeing who is around and near you.
If you dont want to send me your postcode i can understand, but you cant moan when the meet locations are chosen. lol
This is a fairly blunt way of doing things, and im sorry for this approach but i feel it will become very usefull when selecting meet locations, and knowing where people arround you are. Im sure most of you know the last midlands meet was cancelled, hence the reason for starting this map.
The map is private and only i can see and add to it, so no need to worry about your location being shown in public.
Thanks Very Much.

and ive just noticed that according to that i live about half a mile from my house lol
Just a thought, I wouldn't put my post code on a public forum. If you're going to put your name on there, I'd move the marker so it's not on your street etc.

you could just send they start of the post code, as thats all it accepts anyway, so it doesnt drop the marker in your street anyway.

but wont people realise? you cars on the forum people will just match the car to the house. best thing to do ste, is make one for yourself so you can personally see, and on your website, your put a pin in people location, with no details. So people can see hotspots were there is lots of peeps that like there motors.

Ill take the link off, and its set as private anyway so it cant be searched for.
People need to respond to this to make it fair and even for anyone who wants to attend the meets!

Map is now private and only Kim and myself can see and add to it
(Ill send you the details kim)
Ste, just a thought here from my observation.
You're making a massive assumption here, that members are not turning up to meets because of the travelling distance from their homes.
Personally, I wouldn't have minded travelling anywhere, as long as I knew there were going to be plenty of people and lots to see & do.
Although the info you're gathering is no doubt going to be useful, would it not be worth finding out why so few people are showing interest in meets? (not just Midlands, but club meets as a whole?)
I am of course assuming you haven't done this, my apologies if you have :)
Sag
BTW, good job on showing so much interest as an LAM official, we've not often seen that on C2C!

Cheers mate, the way i see it, i love my car and this club, and i want to see it be more successful and people getting more involved in meets and shows.
I go to meets and cruises every week with another club, and this is the only club i know to where people dont seem interested, and yet you lot all seem the best bunch of people.
Im starting with location as thats the first thing i can think of that might be the problem, as times are hard and people dont want to spend money traveling.
The only other problem is people all have different interests and when asked what they would like to do, no ideas are put forward.
I am trying, and will hopefully have the problem resolved if everybody chips and gives their part in it all, and its all OUR club, so help it improve and represent it!
Thanks again.

I appreciate all the work you're putting in Ste, as does the club.
Diamond geezer :) It seems the right way to start, at least it's one avenue investigated.
Keep up the good work!

Ste is correct in that people aren't so interested like they used to be.
I mean if Simon can arrange for 20 odd C2's to turn up at some poxy museum in a place known as Gaydon, then anyone should be able to do it (eh Si ;) )
No one here appreciates the effort Ste has put into the 'meetings' side of things than me, I used to love arranging them back in the day.. whether 5 turned up or 20.
There was a 'family' element to the club back then, something of which has been gone for such a long time now... can we bring that back? I personally don't think so, but that doesn't mean some more successful meets can't be planned and arranged.
As i've said previously, I haven't thought much about meets for a while now (which is why i've been seeking some members that are 'really' interested in doing the job for longer than the usual 'i now have status, lets be keen for a month and then ****off' without a trace), with moving upto the Lancashire Coast last year to live with my partner Kelly, her 2 kids (4 and 6), my son Taylor (7) who lives back home in Staffordshire, and a baby due on the 4th September, I certainly have my hands full. This doesn't mean I do not care, I just have other priorities at this moment in time. Once the baby has come along and things settle down, I'll certainly be up for a day out to somewhere decent... mind you, at this rate we'll need a minibus by then!
It's a shame other LAM Officials always lose interest as soon as one meet doesn't turn out any good, or even gets canceled due to a lack of interest. You'll only get out of the club/meets and the forum, what you are willing to put in. People seem to have enjoyed their 'status' in the past, more than they enjoy making an effort with the actual meets.
I've lost count of the hours, days and weeks i've put into this place over the last 4-5 years (along with a few other side kicks), but i'm still here... you young en's should have way much more 'spunk' in you than me at 34, why not use some of it to make an impression on your fellow members? You never know one day... it could be you in my place... just something for you to think about eh.
Cheers

I agree mate, im going to look into getting some leaflets printed off, ill design something, post it up to see what people think, then get it printed and handed out at a meet to distribute carefully ;)
and as an update to you all, with people sending PM's now, Burton Upon Trent seems to be a fairly central location just based on the markers on the map.
And again dont worry, it is 100% private.
