Mind you, we'll have to go to the block yard/sea front if you want decent photos, you'll not get a good quality pic in a retail park.

Nathan - just crash the gearbox ;)

Nathan_c2
01-06-2009, 03:23 PM
FU*K that, it has to get me to FCS and back yet

C2raig
01-06-2009, 03:26 PM
Crashing a gearbox is great fun! I once had to do it on a Rover 800.

Nathan_c2
01-06-2009, 03:27 PM
yeah, its fun when u can afford new parts :D
i aint walking again

C2raig
01-06-2009, 03:29 PM
Mate, I'd seriously consider buying a cheaper car and using the cash to run it :/

Nathan_c2
01-06-2009, 05:55 PM
i aint gettiing anything worse than a C2, it has to be better or nothing

Phill106
01-06-2009, 05:58 PM
then u might want to start seriously savin for a new thrust bearing and clutch plate. it sounds poorly :( and if u aint changing gear then get ur foot on the floor!!!! its whats caused it in the 1st places, never ride the clutch.

Nathan_c2
01-06-2009, 06:02 PM
i know, i know
if worse comes to worsted i will use me insurance money to pay for a new clutch, its shud last aslong as i remember not to skid about and rest me foot on the clutch

Phill106
01-06-2009, 06:04 PM
treat it gentle lol not heard a bearing make that sort of noice in a long time lol.

Nathan_c2
01-06-2009, 06:06 PM
i deffo will be until after FCS, that the main worrie atm, getting there and back without it breaking

C2raig
01-06-2009, 08:16 PM
Unless you know how to crash the gearbox properly, I wouldn't chance driving a car with a clutch as bad as they said it was over any sort of distance. I wouldn't want to lose the clutch in the middle of a motorway overtake. Either that, or chop it in before it starts costing serious money. Flog me that private plate (:P) and use the money to buy a new clutch and give it a fettling, see if you can sort out the fuel guzzling issue.

Nathan_c2
01-06-2009, 08:19 PM
stuff selling my plate, ive just got it, if i manage to sell the stock front and rear lights and the stock stereo then ill use some of that to get a new clutch

C2raig
01-06-2009, 08:23 PM
I know where I would have put my money

Nathan_c2
01-06-2009, 08:35 PM
where is that then

C2raig
01-06-2009, 08:38 PM
A number plate would be last on my list, put it that way.

Nathan_c2
01-06-2009, 08:42 PM
hahaha, well me parents game me £500 for me 18th plus other gifts and they said they would rather i bought something with it instead of using it on insurance so i thought i would buy a personalised plate

C2raig
01-06-2009, 08:57 PM
I wish my parents would give me £500

I didn't buy my personal plate until I had finished my car, paid my dad back for it, and replaced the roof.

Does anyone want a number plate that spells ASTRA V if you space it illegally?

Hitty86
01-06-2009, 09:05 PM
nope if it said CLIO 172 though... hmmm

C2raig
01-06-2009, 09:08 PM
If you spaced mine right...

Hitty86
01-06-2009, 09:38 PM

LEANNE_GT
01-06-2009, 09:55 PM
lol, nath to be honest wen i had a go of urs car it didnt seem all that bad!!! best to tell if ur clutch is on its way is to put ur hand brake on, put it into 5th gear and get ur bite point!! if u can feel it pull then its ok, just dnt ride it to much tho, trust me :-) thats how mark found out his was ok!! but it did go in the end!! not till ages after!!! x

Hitty86
01-06-2009, 10:01 PM
is it slipping when ya changing gear at higher revs?

Nathan_c2
02-06-2009, 02:38 PM
nope, nothing like that, just that you can hear the bearing when you press the clutch, its hard to expain as im not a mechanic but phill and baz could hear it the other night

it shuold hopefully last a few more months if not another year, fingers crossed
