KEEP YOUR DIARYS
Right folks I know it is early, but I am just making you all aware, I am now in the process of approaching several areas to see what sort of costs I could get for next years camping meet.
At the present moment I am in discussions with the Billing Aquadrome, they have plenty of facilities available to keep us all entertained, also this is a regular site for Car Club Events.
LINKY (http://www.billingaquadrome.com/home.php)
I will keep you all posted of my feed back with them and other sites.
Hope this sounds good.
Bring On 2007.
IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST ANYTHING ELSE OR EVEN HELP OUT WITH THIS EVENT, DROP ME A PM..... Simon72

We (The STAFF etc) have decided to un-lock this thread for the moment.
I am ONLY looking for ideas of dates for this camping weekend.
E.g. Friday/Saturday/Sunday Around May/June/July 2007
After hearing comments from last years camping, most people who attended would prefer not to do a BANK HOLIDAY weekend because the costs are higher for pitch's and other attractions.
(If you are not able to attend all three days this is not a problem, just make it a one night stay instead of a two night)
I will also be looking into what other attractions and pubs/clubs that will be available around the area, also contacting local mini-bus companies so that we could at least all go out and enjoy a night out without having to drive.
PLEASE ONLY POST DATES THAT PEOPLE PREFER.
MANY THANKS
Jeremy_VTR

Simon. My experience last year was that if you ask people for dates, they'll all propose something different. I'd suggest noting the comments like "not a Bank Holiday" and then just picking a good date and sticking to it. Otherwise you'll never reach a concensus.
Also prob best to avoid school holidays cos the sites will be busier then as well. So perhaps between the Whit half term and the July break up. It'll be warm then as well.

Would like to point out that May/June is exam time for Uni students and we dont get holidays in between ;) Only a few on here but just thought would point it out.
Doubt I will make it this year as I am back in Lanzarote early July for 3 weeks this time.
Danny

End of June beginning of July perhaps? As Jerry said, out of school Hols would be best.
Once we set a date we have plenty of time to find a suitable site.

Can I suggest Sat 7th n Sun 8th July, cos I'm off that weekend, and also the Friday, though on earlies Mon 9th. If Den's roster is still the same as mine, he'll be off too.
My two penn'orth ;)
i think im off then but my shift pattern is at emilys so im sure when she gets back from uni she will check and let us know :D

ATM any date is fine by me, but I will hopefully have a job by then. Will it definitely be over a weekend? If it gets sorted out fairly soon, I'll be able to book the time off work ages in advance. So yeah, I'll just go along with whatever you suggest. :D

I found whilst helping arrange a Motorbike weekend with the lads from the FZR1000 forum that every one will throw different dates at you. The best way to do it is find a destination for the weekend, find out what dates they can do for you then just book one! Especially with you doing it about 6-8 months in advance it shouldnt be a problem for most people to book the time off work etc, then it also gives you plenty of time to scope out the area to find things to do. We did a big ride out of all of us on our motorbikes to the coast on the saturday, would be quite amusing to see a crap load of C2's all in convoy :D

I have had a responce back from Billing Aero. and all there brochures.
They said they do not hold club event on Bank Holiday weekend, so I will be starting to look earlier in 2007 at possible dates so that we can have a club event/show there.
Unless people prefer Bank Holidays and then we just hold it as a long weekend club event.
billing is supposed to be good, im up for it :) i will try and behave myself this year too ;)

Thats what i was like last year, i only went for one night. But i liked it that much we bought a massive 4 man tent and went camping again in August.
You'll love it i promise!!!
Our tent has 3 rooms; two bedrooms and a massive living area. And we have cookers and chairs and all sorts, its so fun!!!

Nowhere too northern, needs to be central so horizontally somewhere roughly in line with birmingham/leicester means no-one in england at least has more than 4-5 hours of driving to get there...

Danny
04-01-2007, 07:39 PM
alot of meets have been central in the last 12 months, which i guess is why numbers haveny always been good, especially for camping.
peak district is fairly central?

Hey why dont we go down Tenby, West Wales. There are sites down there
that have camping area and caravans to rent on the same site.
There are loads and loads of top places to go near there, well except
anything to do with car's except Karts (i think).

Good idea Rob, Tenby's really really nice, me & mike went camping there about 2 years ago & stayed in a caravan last year :D
Jaimz - Agreed on Leicester/Brum/Derby area, makes life easier.
Kirsty - You rock, you'd never catch me in a tent either.
I just want it in Leicester so I can come spook some of you at night

Putting up a tent, is... very much like making love to a beautiful woman. You rent her, unzip the door, put up your pole an'... slip in to the old bag.
Danny

I believe Billing is £19 per night PER 6 MAN TENT, which means, the more in your tent, the cheaper it is by splitting the cost.
