Them Pics are missleading. They were took just comming out the Padok and I happened to be infront on them pics. The Paxo's woooped my BUTT, due to most of them being turboed or supercharged :(

Mine was the least moddified out of the 4 C2's that went on track. One of them was a VTS with: Entire Exahaust System, Coilovers, 17" Wheels, etc... that I lost straight away. Between the cars with standard spec their is basically nothing in it performance wise. I think the best bt of the GT is that it is Limited Edition :)

Its a part of the Track Rules. "Front and Rear Lights must be Tapped to prevent debris in the event of an accident". Also have to have both Towing eyes fitted incase of an accident, Lots more Rules...

03-09-2006, 06:57 PM
so that little black tape x will stop headlight casing shattering... sure.

I know, but it has to be done.

03-09-2006, 07:11 PM
Do they teach you the racing line thing, or do they just let you do whatever?

lukemitch2000
03-09-2006, 07:18 PM
We Are Proffesionals ;)

No they dont teach anything, anybody who wasnt confident on track just let others pass. Most of us have done track days before, I did one last year plus I have been Practicing Silverstone on my Xbox alot :)

GT's are only slightly faster due to less wheight, other than that their is no performance difference. The VTS is the fastest out of them all as it has the 125bhp engine instead of the VTR & GT engines @ 110bhp. THe one around track with me was pushing approx. 150bhp and wooped my ass

Mines had a few engine mods i reckon mines about 125 - 130bhp at a guess. need to get the manifold changed to get rid of that power reducing cat.... bloody european emissions nonsense...

03-09-2006, 07:39 PM
gixxer, whats 'stage 1 tuned'?

lukemitch2000
03-09-2006, 07:42 PM
Manifold is My Next Mission, Big BHP Increase with that :)

With What ive got on mine it is possibly 115 - 120 BHP at the Mo

Manifold = 15 BHP + :)

115 - 120 BHP + 15 BHP = A Possible 135 BHP Woooo !

03-09-2006, 07:46 PM
115-120, from a k&n, no offence matey, but i think the maths is wrong, unless you have something more than that which isnt in your profile, in which case Im sorry...

was cracking on track!

was a breeze with my coilovers now.

me and dave had a bit of a duel up front and some saxo vt's too think we got in about 5/6 laps in about 15 mins which wasnt too bad.

but i must admit vtr's rule on track posilbly the bestout of the whole c2 range on track just because of the fact you dont need to take your hands off the wheel to change gear so you can concentrate on the racing line more and get better control out of the corners enaberling you to keep the speed up more.

thats why touring cars have sequential gear boxe's.

was great fun dave does have tallents on track though

Craig
03-09-2006, 07:58 PM
next for me are wider wheels i belive at one point dave was behind me and my back end was goin wild!!!!

03-09-2006, 08:02 PM
So craig, you beat the GTs then.... coz they have the same power, just you have the gearbox...

03-09-2006, 08:10 PM
no one answers my questions. Three in a row there, and not once answered

Craig
03-09-2006, 08:15 PM
thats cos u ask stupid questions.

gixxer
03-09-2006, 08:17 PM
stage 1 engine conversion by cituning mate, chipped exhaust and cold DIA air intake...

its more responsive for sure but nothing too drastic. might just buy a subaru.

03-09-2006, 08:18 PM
is that right craig? You never answered... Whats that tell me?

Craig
03-09-2006, 08:19 PM
there was no beating involved it wasnt a race, raceing is dangerous just stating its proberly much easier for vtr drivers out off all the c2 range on the track.

03-09-2006, 08:20 PM
Ah I see. The track and the cars trying to get round as fast as possible confused me

gixxer
03-09-2006, 08:21 PM
yes i can see that is really confsing lol

03-09-2006, 08:25 PM
Nah vtr drivers have it hard cos they cant change gear as quick as someone with a manual

Jaimz 8)

Craig
03-09-2006, 08:27 PM
you just go at your own pace.

Craig
03-09-2006, 08:29 PM
on track it bairly matters changes down just as quick as a manual.

0-60 it might matter but when u have the advanntage of better control round corners that just about makes up for it.

03-09-2006, 08:31 PM
If you're changing gear and cornering you are doing it completely wrong. Braking and gearchange all done before the bend, that is the proper way to do it.

I Agree Wiv Graig. I was finding it hard in some places as I needed to change gear when I needed my hands on the steering wheel, VTR is better on track, Plus All You dudes had Coilovers!!! Saying that the Springs ive got are much better than Standard, MUCH BETTER. (Still Want Coilovers)

Craig
03-09-2006, 08:37 PM
still have to take ur hand off the steering wheel ;) into a tight bend with cars to the side of you could put u off with just 1 hand on the steering wheel goin 50+ into a bend.

Dont they tell you to change as you go into the corner (meaning that even with a manual, you'll have two hands on the wheel anyway)... Good pics there Dave

True!

But not when you misjudge a corner and bomb into it too fast

(Only did it once on the Last Lap as their was a Paxo Trying to beat Me, Not that I Was Racing)

how much you enjoyed putting the VTR on track.

Tyres aint that bad actually Dan, I swapped the fronts for the backs and the Khumos have worn wuite well Silverstone isnt as abrasive as FCS Brunters track luckily.

I had both hands on the wheel trying to dodge Craig slipping all over the place and taking funny limnes into corners, if we were allowed to pass on bends I'd have taken him on the 2nd lap

Enjoy the track Rob ? I LOVE it :D

Oooh good at karting ? Lets have a karting lam, lets just say I'm 'quite handy' at karting on C2SC & SSC ;)

Its not that much really, considering its an Inernational Circuit and theres only a few places to have.

04-09-2006, 08:06 PM
thats outrageously expensive 8O A whole day at silverstone is just over £100. Plus it wouldn't be so busy. I'll save my 27 quid thanks
