Whilst giving the £1000 C2 a good going over for its MOT next week, I removed both rear wheel plastic mudguard inserts (or whatever you call those things) to give underneath a good clean and inspection. On both sides of the car, the two mounting points for the bumpstops and springs were completely full of damp soggy muck. They are now scraped out and dried and blown out with an airline, but looking to the future, I have completely filled them with a waxoyl/underseal mix. I would suspect that most C2s will be the same and because they are hidden behind the splashguard, you won't notice until its too late. Top tip - every now and again, rip out the rear splashguards and dung out all the little muck traps.
Both front wishbones were also completely full of muck and after a bit of fiddling with a hooked rod of 5mm steel, I got about 1/2 a bucketfull from both sides.
Its definitely something to keep on top of if you are planning to keep it for a long time.
