There is massive cruise coming up THIS WEEKEND, to essex. I know of several clubs going and a few have arranged convoys going. Fast Car magazine will be in attendence for some shots, but i think it will be a late one for most as its an Essex meet. Hilton South Services will be the meeting point at about 5:30 to leave a 6:00.

I will be going to this if we can get enough going off here, and i believe JamesPC is going too.

Cozzi..

On saturday night i was busted by cops for having flashing strobe lights on my car at the lakeside/thurrock car parks. My car was switched off and stationary when the lights were on.

Now the police officer had a tow truck there ready to tow my car as he said I was impersonating a police car (obviously not they didnt look like police lights at all but whatever) but he couldnt do nothing as its the traffic police officers decision on whether it gets towed! the traffic cop was cool and after a few apologies etc i was given a £30 fine and my car stayed with me!

He said though next week they have intel for the revenge cruise. ATLEAST 35 tow trucks will be on stand by there, essex cops are seriously ready for the cruise and said regardless whether you are just being normal or doing crazyness your cars will either be towed, fined or seized away pending court decisions. Essex police are being put under huge pressure as lately the car parks have been trashed and local stores have complained enough. I saw plenty of cars being taken away and i must admit this is the first time this has happened. Police are seriously not playing about now so if you wish to go be warned! the police officer said that he is 110% sure that this will be the last ever revenge cruise.

I just thought i would relay this message because i can tell a mile off when somebody is bluffing and im sure the police officer wasnt! i dont want any of our guys to have their cars towed and damaged and also burn pockets to have them released.

My friend just sent me that as I was planning on this to go.

They can if you've something on your car that isn't insured, they'll tow it away no problem.

Taxed/Insured/MOT'd.. If you fault on any of those, don't go near that carpark

'Cruises' are illegal though.

why are they illegal, they are so commonly advertised and commercailly attended to. if you have something illegal on your car, i can understand, but other than that you have a pretty strong argument in your favour. not that im doubting you mate.

I'm sure theres a law about the crowds? Den would know.

But the main one is, if the carpark say yes.. Its fine, but thats a very very few who let you use it for a cruise.

Cruising and the law

Although cruising is not a crime in itself there are many illegal activities associated with it and as such cruises are often monitored by the police or even closed. The most commonly cited reasons for breaking up cruises are breach of the peace, caused by loud exhausts and sound systems disturbing local residents and dangerous driving i.e. racing, burnouts and doughnuts. Police also claim that cruises are used as cover for drug dealing and are attended by stolen or otherwise illegal cars. More recently police have been using ASBO laws which enable them to seize and impound cars if anti-social behaviour is taking place or if a group refuses to disperse from an area.

good to hear that they just let u do what u wanted without them getting involved. u get a much better reaction if u just supervise from start to finish, rather then bursting in half way tho.
