wheels from loads of places, and cituning is the most used place i think, but can be expensive.
and at 16 you should concentrate on gettin the car and insuring it 1st. ;)

When buying the car check auto trader and piston heads classifieds! Often pick uip some bargains on there!
Also when ur gettin insurance check EVERYWHERE! Prices differ massively, my best quoye by a long way was through 4youngdrivers.co.uk but also try Adrian Flux, and I believe that memebres of this site get a discount there too (check the memebers discount forum!)
but make sure that if u are getting one ask the guys on here first, they're very knowlegdeable and helpful! :)

well my old man sprayed his car, did a good job actually for his 1st time. the cost is in the compressor, and equipment then. dont know how much it all cost him though.

Hi mate, welcome. I would stick to the 1.1L if I was you to cut the ol' insurance costs. Oh, and good luck with your driving lessons ;) .

if you only have 4grand for the car and insurance how are you planning on paying for a bodykit!? and btw, the 1.1 is a great little engine, its got enough speed in it and youll still do 50mpg
Jayme
09-02-2009, 04:38 PM
Alryt mate. I'm 17 and got a 1.1, as the cheapest on insurance. I wouldn't bother getting anymore than that for the time being really, would cost you too much, as i had a similar budget.
And it's exactly the same car, apart from speed of corse! So you might as well just stick with a 1.1.
With my insurance, it was around 2000, i put my mom on it and it was cheaper than having both parents! So with her on it's about 1800 apx.

which ever you go for, i would recomend thaving the VT* kit, so i think in the 1.1 and 1.4 its the furio, which mine is. you get the skirts, body color bumpers and sports seats, etc.
looks sportier but still with a low engine, and if you change your mind about body kit, you can leave it looking good but still standard.

thanks alot guys some reli good advice there :)
i think i will get the 1.1 aswell and to the person who sed bout affording the other stuff i have a part timee job so im saving up lol :P
whats that VT* kit? and where can i see it mate?
i shud have about £6000 if i keep saving up and dont spend anythin but more like £5000 cuz i will spend alode lol
scuderia91
09-02-2009, 08:07 PM
the vt* kit is the one you get standard on the vtr/vts/furio/code
lol oh lol oh lol
16 and wanting to mod a c2 he doesnt have lol
i think the people coming on this site are getting more strange.
first the guy who wants and evo or vxr at 19 and now you lol
2k for insurance without mods declared........how much will it go up when you tell the insurance about them.... thats if you do.
on topic thoug.. bought my car new for 7k odd 700 insurance. spent nothing on it the first show i went to and had a photo in TWO mags.
and at present iv sent about £50 on the car, coilovers are going to be the most expensive things i by at 350quid. my insurance will be at 500quid then at 21 on a 1.1 because who needs a big engine in a small car :D
and well geting a body kit etc on it straight away i wouldnt do because they say something like 80% of new drivers crash in the first year, body kit ruined then if you do...
id concentrate on learning to drive then passing first then buy a shitty cheap car for the first year, if you crash that so what, then if you still want a c2 buy one then, then you will have more experience and no claims bonus if have your own policy etc so will have cheaper insurance

i have no licence as of yet, the c2 is my first car, im only lightly modifying it to make it look a little nicer, but ye, if i was you id get a car and pass your test before you start thinking about major mods as just running a car soon gets expensive

I can see what Ash is saying ut I don't totally agree!
If u ask me shouldn't have to buy a cheapy shed car when u first pass, just depends how u drive, keep it sensible and as long as ur confident u'll be fine!
I drove my fathers 1.8T for the first 5 months of passing my test and not even a slight knock so totally depends on u not the car!
As for the VT* bodyki its just the corner bits of the front bumper, the sideskirts and roof spoiler that are on the Furio, VTS and VTR! And they do set the car off nicely!
This is a good guide to look at, made a standard 1.1 look like a realy nice sport model! :)

Good luck and the C2 is perfect for a first car if u ask me! :)

iv been passed about 6months and my c2 is the 2nd car iv had. Had a 10 year old 1.2 clio to geta bit of experience before spending a bit of money on a more modern car which really helped. was a tad apprehensive about going down to a 1.1 but its a wee speed machine lol good luck with the lessons and ur car.. welcome to the club ;)
