Hey, the names Alex. I'm 17 and my (first) car is, you guessed it, a c2. more specifically a 2007 Sebastien Loeb edition VTS 1.6i in red; god only knows how many they made, but mine is apparently no.10. I look forward to being part of the c2 community and mebz meeting a good few of you at meetings, festivals and trackdays and suchlike. Pics of my little pocket rocket will be posted v. soon, so be prepared for some awesome c2-ness

Cheers

Seems you guys are awful concerned with insurance, its costing 2500 at t'moment.

As for mods, Ive already fitted a simota carbon charger induction and breather, custom tint, a bit of handbrake griptape and some custom deep pile carpets-yum. I plan to keep a carbon fibre theme so carbon fibre mods will include: gear knob, rocker cover, mud flaps, canards, evo style vortex generator and a carbon intake trumpet which will be fitted into a tasty black zunsport grille.

Other mods are gonna include full exhaust+manifold, sprint booster, ngk plugs, bride cuga driver seat, sparco extreme wheel, OMP strut brace, AVO shox, and in the very distant future hopefully a ZEX nitrous dry spray and purge kit and Quaife ATB-LSD

I take my first practical test on 18/3- wish me luck!

were concerned with insurance cause some of us (me included) are only 17/18 and had to settle for 1.1s or the insurance would be astronomical, im surprised yours is so cheap, are all your mods declared?

Insurance companys say to provisional drivers that it is computer generated whether the price goes up or down when you pass and change to a full licence.
More than likely it will go up, so you will probly be looking at more the 3k!

Aha, good luck! And for mine on Thursday (H)

my insurance went from being 2500 when i was on provishional to 4800 when i passed im currently re insuring to see if i can get a better deal. the only reason i still have the car is because ther is no point selling it i can afford the insurance but i dont want to if you know what i mean thats one reason why mines not getting heavy mods because the insurance will rape me

The provisional insurance is always lower due to they don't expect you to be on the road very much with it, also you are accompanied by a qualified driver.

My apprentice at work rung 6 insurance companies when he was 18 for a GT and all of them told him to try again when he was 21.

So I am very supprised if you get a Full insurance on a VTS at only 17/18 with out it being near to the cars Value ;-)

mine did the same, i told the insurance company i wanted a c2 and what would they quote for the different models, and the 1.4 was the highest they would insure me on.

Firsly yes you're right nearly every insurance company said no!

it was due to my age which i found funny as my friend is the same age as me & got insured on a mg zs 1.8 which is a much higher insurance group & his was alot cheaper!

but yes i went through a company policy on mine

So if you are on a company policy, I presume you realise you will not build your NCD discount up, because when you want to go private, 95% of policies won't accept company NCD's to be transfered over, and if you do manage to get your NCD transfered it will still be loaded, hence you will start from either scratch again and be back to square one or still be penalised.

yeah im totally aware of that. im going to stay on the policy for the a while tho dude as i work for my uncle/dads company....

but yeah your totally right about the ncd i get nothing really.

but when im 21 it wil go down anyway ill just take it easy & stay out of trouble

How much are nitrous kits then & what kind of gains do you expect from it

jnc90
09-02-2009, 02:22 PM
nitorus kits are completley legal, despite the myths! The tests on fith gear showed that when flooring it they can double hoprsepower!

As for cost IIRC I think they paid approx. £600 for the install by Wizards of Noz and the £100 per refill bottle, but I may be totally wrong on them prices! lol
