My next big plan, is to put a decent audio install in the car,

im planning on a custom made boot install, not just box, ( I know an MDF master ;) lol ) which i will photoshop for comments.

and a (hopefully) full Hifonics install, comprising of the following:

2 x Hifonics BX 12D2 2Ohm Sub Woofers, 600W RMS Each
1 x Hifonics BXi 1206D Super D Mono Amp, 450W RMS x 2 @ 2Ohm
1 x Hifonics ZXI 6.5C 6.5" Components, 100W RMS
1 x Hifonics ZXI 5.2C 5.25" Components, 90W RMS

All items have Blue illuminated logos, and the woofers have illuminated cones ;) and look mint at night, i have searched videos on YouTube, lol

I need to find a hifonics power cap, 1 Farad, but struggling, and im planning a blue and black color theme to match car and equipment.

Has anyone any thoughts on the above, and know where i can get alcantara from etc

Thanks all :thumb:

Sounds good, but, a few things.

1. Power caps are a waste of time, just get a decent battery
2. You may want more amps, such as a multi channel amp for the speakers and maybe 2 mono amps for the subs

Will sound way better, but, should be good to see it when done!

def get a multi channel amp for your components.
i assume you are changing the back speakers if so is there any need to as you sit in the front (driving) and therefore not hearing the benefit of the back speakers
why two subs?
i do like the idea of it all being colour coded would look absolutely awesome

multi channel will run at a higher resistance, ie 4 or 8 ohm from my understanding, not 2ohm like i want, is that right as im not 100% sure.
advice is good tho thanks,

and only reason for replacing rears, is to stop them blowing, and im not going to amp components anyway yet.

help on the wiring and ohms would be a gib help at the moment. Thanks

Impedance needs to match.(or limits of amp)
If you had 2 2 ohm speakers in series, you could hook to 4 ohm amp.
or 2 4 ohm speakers in parallel and you could hook up to 2 ohm output.
You can do a Series/Parallel and use 4 8 ohm speakers and amp will only see 8 ohms.

well the amp and both speakers are 2 ohm? thats why the mono amp was chosen. because i want the overall power at the subs at 2 ohm each for more power, not 4 ohm.

if the speakers are 2 ohm then the amp will only be able to produce 2 ohm, well thats my understanding, you wouldnt no i was doing sound engineering at uni lol

i think professional advice would be needed before wiring. no offense mate by the way. Unless anyone has definite information?
