can you please all getting in touch with the bbc watchdog program via WATCHDOG (http://WWW.BBC.CO.UK/WATCHDOG)and just get everyone to bombard them with complaints about our shitron c2. sorry i ment citroen c2. i've just had me gearbox reconditioned, new diff in side the gear box and my 3rd clutch in. all for £910.00 and not from citroen. along with a long list of PROBLEMS baring in mind it's a vtr on 53 plate. 1st on road in milton keynes. i'm fed up with poor customer care etc. will you help GET SOME ANSWERS
in all fairness, modifying it probably hasnt helped the mechanicals that are set for standard power etc
not only that but it has to be taken into account that when you have one of the first of a new car theres bound to be teething problems.
as for citroen customer care, theyre (car manufacturers) all as bad as one another really. Some dealers will be fine and some will be right knobs, such is life.
if you hadn't invalidated the warranty with the modifications then you wouldn't have had to pay for any of those repairs, as they're all warranty jobs.

well said Jaimz, in all honestly, every single problem has been eradicated from my C2, just a few niggles such as 3 beeps on cold startup, but nothing major. Compared to other cars the C2 has had very little problems!
all my problems have been fixed efficiently and for free (even some that arent really warranty jobbies) and i cant fault charvills for customer service. sure things have gone wrong but its to be expected in a car that is:
A) built a couple months after general release (my car is nov2003)
B) french
C) small, and cheap (both to build and to buy)

Totally agree with both sides of the story. Ive had loads of problems with mine too but the big thing in citroens favour is they have fixed them all, and given me compensation for my troubles.
Here is a list of things i have had wrong.
squeaky fans
Computer packed up
throttle system
door trim
loud noise from rear whels.
its going back in 2morrow for:
drivers seat creaks all the time
needs new seal round drivers door
2nite started making grinding noise when turning steering wheel, coming from drivers side front wheel.
as like jaimz mine was one of the first batch, you expect teething problems, at times i have wanted to ram raid the dealers with the car, but in the end they have always come through.

Mine haven't been too bad....after a bit of nagging they do seem to get things done about the problems, my car is going in on thurs to have the rear brake sorted coz it makes a noise when reversing. And hopefully getting new cd player as this one keeps stoping all the time when listening to a cd
mines in tomorrow for:
new alternator
investigate scraping.grinding noise when pulling away
tighten the handbrake cable
re-attach interior mirror

I think i must be one of the lucky ones, got mine in April '04, and havent had any of the problems described, apart from the sqeaky brakes, but i can live with that. Guess I'm asking for trouble after saying that now.

Yea guess you dont have anyone of these problems on a bmw but thats because you pay a premium for it. To be fair, although cd brammel m.k. are complete tw@s they have sorted most probs.
Mines goin in on friday for the grinding breaks, (apparently) blown speakers, creaky steering wheel. Thats all for now, lol.

The only problems I have had with mine are:
1) Squeaky Brakes, which I got fined for by the police! (Citroen refunded the fine and changed all brake parts!) Which are all ok now
2) Drivers seat trim coming away, about to be fixed when I can be bothered ringing them to book it in!
My mum's Pluriel has had more problems, which I shall not list, but for the price of the C2, its cheap because its cheap to build, and its not going to act like a BMW is it now! My mum has had worse problems with a Mercedes A Class than what anyone has had with a C2, bent wheels for a start!

where is the trim coming away jimbo? mine is constantly unclipping underneath, it sort of hooks on to a metal bar

The base of the seat trim is the culprit, it is comin away from the back of the seat, has come untucked from both sides of the seat back adjustment handle. Tried tucking it back in, but it keeps coming away.
Crap explanation, rubbish at explain things on cars, as you can see! lol
pritt stick will fix it :D lol

yeah but what i'm trying to say that all my mods were done in the last two weeks. everything thats gone wrong has gone wrong since nov 03. no lie, i don't think i had my car for a full month for the first 8 months. it's the crappy workmanship in mk. i've had now three clutches 1st 1 took 2 weeks to have car back and they had to pull it of the prodcution line, locking wheel nuts drillied out, new drivers seat, 10 computer changes before they relised it was the clutch finally after 12,000 miles. new electric window motor, kangooing car when in 1st, then guess what. i do the mods and i get a £900 bil because the kangooing was down to clutch etc which in turn cracked the gear box casing and blown up diff. thats not fun. don't get me wrong i think there the new pocket rockets, really nice drive, when not in garage and easy to mod. but i think citroen have run before they could crawl with the c2. too much technology.

Think im one of the few lucky ones too :-) i've only had the brake squeak problem. everything else has been fine (other than a slight dashboard squeak - but i can live with that - just turn the music louder! :-))
Saying that, i think the VTS's and later GT's have been a bit more trouble-free than the other models. Could be because they were built a bit later, and don't have the sensodrive.

Sounds like you've had some pretty crap luck C2 MK :-( i wouldn't be happy if i were you either. I think your right about Cit trying new technology tho, the sensodrive seems to be a big problem, and perhaps they just didn't research/develop it enough. Not a bad idea, but flawed.

Jaimz how do you know if you need a new handbreka cable or have it tightened, cause mine creeks when u have it on the hill with handbreak engaged and then get out the car, do you think it is the handbreak?
What syptoms have you had?

1) Way to test it is to drive with the handbrake on, if you can move with it on that mean it need tighten up.
2) Maybe Jaimz handbrakes his car alot and found out its not doing the handbrake turn.

Took my car in a few weeks ago coz i was getting a grinding noise from my rear brake everytime i reverse so it was booked in today to get fixed, they ordered new parts to fix it and was told it was gonna take them 3 hours. Well went to pick the car up and they said theres nothing wrong with it, its already have the rear brake mod so they didn't do anything to it!!!! Surely when they looked at it a few weeks ago when they did the 1000 mile service (if they even did the service???!!!!) they would have known whether of not it had already had the rear brake mod???
Honestly they're crap!!!!! Looks like it's gotta be booked in again coz theres something not right with it!
Seems they never do anything unless you nag at them which i don't believe you should have to do!
c2ology how dare you suggest such a thing?! it just needs more of a tug not to roll on hills... so needs tightening
citroen had backordered all the parts so not gettin alternator til may 17th, stupid french tards
