I'm getting a turbo for my vtr, and I'd like to know if anyone has any experience with doing the electronics/management part.

Any experiences about getting new injectors, building in piggyback modules like Greddy Emanage, or just simply hacking the ECU would help me a lot.

will a sensodrive gearbox be able to handle a turbo?

It has been done by that guy in portugal, to my belief i think it was a success, however i think that if you had a VTS or GT being manuals the turbo would have been easier to handle than the senso drive!
running at 170-180 bhp and 200-220 Nm?
I reckon you would need to definatley uprate the brakes to somthing bigger re-enforce the chasis and i dont know what else would have to be changed as a result of putting all that power in a car that was built for half the amount! I would really invest in some experianced mechanics to do the job, safety first mate!

Think about clutch (better one then OEM but not metal) and about clutch servomotor. I belive that gearbox ECU will have problems with clutch with so many NM's. My opinion is : Clutch will die verry soon but u cant do anything. Maybe when u re-map somehow gearbox ECU... anyway.... its not good idea. Ofcourse u need better brakes etc.. Good luck.

Dont turbo a c2, in my opinion it isnt really worth the money. Just save it for a car that has a turbo and start modding from there!
Im sure you will come across lots of problems if you do turbo it. I mean, do you know if the vtr turbo is portugal is still running?! and what about ur insurance? They will no doubt see you coming, rub their hands together, then rob you.

I'm getting it done by a friend of mine, the whole thing is going to cost me about 900 € plus the cluch and gearshaft reinforcements that are needed.
The turbo wont run over 0.4-0.5 Bars for everyday usage. Maybe when I drag, I'll set it to 0.8, but I'll be surely careful with it.

Thanks for the advices, I'm looking forward to reading other opinions too.

I'll make a forum topic when we'll start building it. Hopefully before the end of summer. It makes me scream when I think of my car running at 170hp. WEEEEEHHAAA!

Sorry. :D
SOoooo. Other opinions?

I thought that vtr from portugal wasn't able to get 180bhp, I thought it was 130 or 150, at the advice from the makers of the turbo unit.

I think the sensodrive gearbox would have serious problems with that much power!

pointless on a VTR. if it was a VTS then id be for it

I agree. With that gear box, changes will take too long and slow the 0-60 right down :?
