I have an extended warranty with Renault for my Megane and my mum has one for the Scenic. I know for a fact the brakes (discs or pads) arent covered under ours, would expect it to be the same for Citroen extended warranties unfortunately :(

The battery is an interesting one for us. We went away on holiday and came back 2 weeks later to drive the Scenic, it started throwing up warnings that the battery was shot. Renault had a look at it, and they said it needed a new battery, and it stated in our warranty handbook that it WAS covered under warranty, however, Renault refused to replace it! And then wanted £135 for a battery!!! Took it down to a local independent Renault specialist, who hooked it up to there computer, quoting £56 inc VAT if a new battery was needed.....turns out the computer report stated Renault had simply turned the warning off, and the battery didnt need replacing!

Dealers....I have had dealing with Mercedes, Jeep, Citroen, and Renault, and there all the same, money grabbing monkeys who dont know anything at all. Tbh, overall, extended warranties arent worth the money at all.

Sorry for the essay lol.

Bought my C2 in Feb and took out an extra years warranty on it. When i got it, the brakes were squeaking and grinding. The guy said this was just because it wasn't driven for a while.

8 months on, it's got pretty bad, but i've just rang Citroen and they have said it's still to do with where it wasn't driven before i got it... :?

Are brake (pads/disc's not sure) covered under warranty, as i just took it to a garage and was told they DO need replacing asap.

Also, are batterys covered? As i need a new one.

Thanks for that :)

I'll go down to my Citroen dealer when i'm back from Cornwall next week.

Just annoyed my that the guy knew the brakes were shot, and have made me put up with them like this for 8 months!

I'll see what they say about the battery :)

I'm gonna try that yeh. I phoned up a few times and they just keep saying 'it'll get better over time'

But had a break check today and theyre really bad :( So it's obviously only got worse.

might be worth arguing with them as effectively they sold you a car that had dodgy breaks.
