C2Club North Wales meet - Sunday 27th August

Anyone fancy a meet in North Wales in August/September??

Thinking about going to Llandudno/Colwyn Bay area, possibly going upto the summit point in Llandudno (warning! very steep hill, only just about got my Furio up! 80 ) and of course going to the beach and the usual things like eating at a pub etc etc.

If anyone is interested, can you leave your name in this thread and the dates that you can attend and I will set a date in the future if there is enough interest :D

Due to me going on holiday on Thursday, Den (bolton_lad) will be taking over organising this meet in my absence until I return, I will have access to a computer when I am away however will only be able to check once or twice in the 2 weeks I am away

The possible dates that have been set so far are

26th August
27th August
3rd September

Thanks mark for reminding me that it will be bank holiday weekend on the 26th/27th, I will take it into consideration :) A date will either be set when I return in late July.

Hi all, would love to come along, if it was the weekend before, but it is Bank Holiday weekend the place will be absolutly packed also I will be going up to Scotland on the 26th for a week.

I drive the complete M54 + part A5 to Shrewsbury every day, and in the last 8 years I have never had a problem, it must be the quietest route I ever take??????

Yeah there are pubs in the centre of Llandudno, a Weatherspoons so cheap drinks ;)

Up at the summit point, I am not sure if there is a bar, but know there is a shop and mini golf, its more of a photo opportunity at the summit point than anything :D As for walking up and down hills, the rest of you can, i aint lol, i nearly passed out the other week!! Was boiling hot!

we still need a landmark such as a beach front location or at the very least somewhere to accomodate a fair few motors.

Ok, but I will need some sort of plan to be drawn up, who's camping etc.

Also if I am coming down is anyone on my route wanting a lift? this would be good for both me and them as I have no idea where I'm going and they need transport!

Due to emily struggling to find camp sites in Llandudno, we are now looking 10 mins down the road in the Colwyn Bay area. If there is n success I will talk to my mate in Colwyn Bay when I return from holiday as she will know all the areas etc etc.

there is a quite a lot TBH and the is this massive rock that we can all drive up it has an a massing view the cable carts at the top and a gift shop... its really windy tho...

there is alot a zoo about 20mins away

Update on camping situation!!

I have found a campsite that is located 4 miles south of Llandudno in Conwy, called Conwy Touring Park.

I have e-mailed them this evening to see if there are any pitches left for the bank holiday for this meet. From there website, looking at the costs, It will be around £14 per night per tent for two people.

I will update you all when I have heard more from them.

Could I also please have a list of DEFINATE campers so I can give them an official number please.

Right Just come back from Llandudno last night, It didn't cost me anything to go up the Orme on the coastal road, as no attendant was there, but should be £2.50 each, however my dad spoke to the attendant the night before and they have said club/group discounts can be arranged :lol: .

There is an alternative route up the Orme to Summit point, and this must be done in FIRST gear only you will get away with SECOND in places, otherwise roll back could occur and cause an accident! WHOOPS :oops: :oops: .

So if you are not a confident driver on VERY steep inclines the scenic coastal route is much more appropriate. :D

ive been there 100's of times, i think most people will be fine just have to take it steady

Im not a tramp and i go camping all the time. I normaly pay about £7. ( i know its the holidays but some sites stay the same price or add 1 - 2 pound on top).

Right, still cant get hold of the campsite, when I rang them yesterday they said they will ring me back, and they haven't done, so I have just rung them again and yet again waiting for them to ring me back. I am giving them till 5pm today to ring me before I start looking for another campsite.

If they is no possibility of getting a campsite for this meet, I am thinking about throwing a gathering at my house after the meet. Any attendees are welcome to come and have space to pitch a couple of tents outside, but this is only as a last resort if no camping sites are available.

Keep up the good work Jimmy, this may prove expensive but i may be able to sort for us all/most attendees a B&B, around £30 per night right near to the pier on the orme., but can't guarantee parking outside but should be able to organise with no problem overnight.

Let me know opinions!

Conwy Touring Park is full for the dates of the meet, so they have given me another campsite to look at and shall be speaking them tomorrow.
