No way you will get a ticket mate, u need to be doin 10% of the limit to get a ticket, so in a 40mph zone you will have needed to be doing 44mph or above to get a ticket ;)

Got caught in October,apparently i was doing 47 in a 30! when i asked politley to see the alleged "footage" the very polite policemen hummed and hawed! Coincidently, im still waiting to here from it...

its worked for me a couple of times actually! The cops up here are pretty reasonable when it comes to modded motors -as long as they dont see you driving about like a fanny they'll probably use a bit of discretion and give you a 'good talking to' instead of a ticket.

I was in my mates evo with him down dunoon way and this volvo estate was sittin right up his ass, so he took off, and overtook 5 cars at once and sped off.

It took the volvo 4 miles to catch us up. needless to say it was unmarked cops. They were gonna beast him, but stood appreciating the car for a while and just gave him the 3 points + £60 fine.

I think the police were a bit embarrassed about how long it took them to catch him!

Found out somthing pretty usefull yesterday!
Apparently when the camera has no spool in it the flash threshold is set lower so that it flashes even if your doing like 33mph! I was doing 38 on the other side in the inside lane of a 4 lane carrigeway so i think i should be okay!

on the camp in may, i went to the cinema with my mate james and phil (shockwaves) - on the way back we got it up to 103mph! a 1.1!! pretty cool, huh?

I know thats how they work in Glasgow aswell apparently merc and Bmw drivers make the safest drivers apparently, even though indicators are an optional extra and they never wave when you let the bastards in

I hate people who don't wave when you do them a favour. I also hate cars who speed up when you over take. I was stick behind a C2 Furio a few weeks ago in a national speed limit and this lad was doing 40mph so I went to over take on the little stretch and he started speeding up I was by the side of him I would have made it if it wasen't for the bend ahead and if hadn't sped up. When I went over my sisters me and this C2 SX was racing each other on the by pass she must have been a girl racer like my sisters but I won.

They're for monitoring traffic flow, congestion etc. you can't get prosecuted from them.

Black cube on traffic light is just a pir sensor to detect if cars are in front of the traffic light and to change the sequence if need be. ie, if cars in front of red light and none in front of green light, the lights will change.

small circle or square on motorway I'm not too sure but I think they have something to do with the small blue congestion cameras, although thats probly wrong.

a traffic light offence has been committed if you cross the line even on red-amber lights (on their way to green).

Yeah, if you go through an amber light about to turn red you won't have commited an offence. but if it turns red when you are only half over the line you have committed an offence.

ok here goes i used to put the bloody things up and change the fil in them so simple explanation every speed camera in the world is set to a percentage in the uk it is 10% over the limit the reason for this is there is a varience between the actual speen the car is doing and the read out on the spedo of around 2 mph ,plus asked by police to set up like this because if they wer eto stop and ticket every car that is just over limit they would be there allday
second point only 1 in 5 cameras in the uk actually have film in them
to be able to tell the cammera must flash twice to catch you if it flashes once it has no film in it

average speed cameras as previousy stated use a distance speed and time calcultion IE they use the time it takes you to go from one camera to then next to gage your speed again there is a varience of 10%
also if you were doing 41 you will have noticed and slowed down before reaching the next camera

so please stop worrying

My colleague was doing 37mph in a 30 zone and drove past a mobile speed camera van, and she was on her mobile too!! But she didn't get a ticket (God knows why - she committed two offences!) so Dave, I reckon you'll be fine.

31 in a 30 zone - ticket
32 in a 30 zone - only on a tuesday but not when it clashes with the Queens birthday (both official and real)
33 in a 30 - the LAPD (not a figure of speech, they will actually call the LAPD over) will be knocking at your door and you will be tried as an adult unless you can give a good reason why they should let you off. Good reasons include that you are sorry and you promise it might not happen again
