Has anyone already done this? I'm preparing to install some sound-deadening material all over the floor plan but wasn't sure if removing the driver's seat and disconnecting the wires will trip something on the service indicator?

Anyone had any experience of this?

I think that as long as you disconnect the negative terminal on the battery (for a reasonable amount of time) before disconnecting the wires you should be OK. How would it know if everything was reconnected before power was reapplied?

I'm planning to swap out my front side passenger seat, so I'll let you know how I get on.

Citroen Service instructions for removing the chair are fairly straight forward:
- Push the chair all the way forward, remove rear 2 screws
- Push the chair all the way back, remove front 2 screws (these are the ones at the very front, not the ones behind those)
- Remove electrical harness

Simple as that. Citroen of course do recommend you follow their pyrotechnic safety instructions (because of the seat belt pretensioners and airbags present in the chair). Basically, always hold pretensioners by their casing and not the buckle or steel cable. Always hold/store airbags passenger side up (stops whatever the airbag is housed in projecting into your face, or at least reduces the risk of it). Always disconnect the battery before performing any work (Citroen recommends at least 2 minutes if your Airbags are reported to be working correctly at the time of disconnection, 10 minutes if the warning light is behaving abnormally) and like all explosives keep them away from sources of heat, electric interference etc. These safety instructions shouldn't really apply if you're just removing and refitting the chair, but are worth bearing in mind.

Cheers for that, I still haven't had the time to sort it, but should get it done next free weekend (2010 probably).
