ESP on VTR Mk1

Just picked up my 04 silver VTR on Saturday and very pleased with it. In the manual it mentions the button on the dash to switch the ESP on and off. Mine doesn't seem to have this button - did Mk1 VTRs come fitted with ESP? If not, was it fitted to Mk2 VTRs?
