Hello People!

Im Mike and I recently bought a C2 GT.

Im 18 from Warrington, Cheshire. Im into my Motorsports, rallying in particular but I like a lot of track racing like BTCC/WTCC and MotoGP. I have an MSA National B race licence and am looking to get on track properly next season. I studied Motorsports at Myerscough College where I worked on a wide range of race and rally cars, so I'm a very competant mechanic.

I used to own a 1.25 Mk5 Ford Fiesta, which I used to thrash around:

Having had a few days to get used to the new car, it handles really well but I get a lot of incompliant squeels from the "Acelera" tyres. That will soon be sorted when I get some Goodyear rubber.

It pulls very well and it doesn't feel like I have to thrash it to get any sort of speed/performance out of it like I did the fiesta. (Although it is obviously in a totally different league to the fiesta) Im very pleased with it so far. Theres not much im going to change about it just yet.

I would assume the car was owned before me by an enthusiast, as they have done a little bit too it to get it to its current state, stiffer suspension, induction kit, backbox and the decals.
One of you might recognise it?

My only annoyance with it, is when you brake heavily the hazards come on! This is a bit of a distraction down backroads! Is there an option to turn it off?

Thanks

Mike

It looks spot on in the flesh. Ill blame it on the Camera phone (nokia 3.2mp) for now till I have a proper look at it in the morning. Might even take the splitter off, its a bit annoying over speed "Hills!".

Apparently the guy who had it before PXed it for a 207 at a Pug garage in Liverpool. It was originally from the Slough area?

loving the front splitter! keep it on and put some skirts on it and it will look spot on! unless your rallying it! lol

welcome :)

hazards come on when the car detects excessive heavy breaking as a safety feature to drivers behind. dont think it can be turned off

Ah right. My mates Mk6 Fiesta had the same feature but he could turn it off, wasnt sure if you could turn it off on these aswell.

Small World! I live in Kingswood near Ikea. I used to live in Cold Stream close in Cinnamon brow when I was younger.

Im not sure engine wise, maybe getting it up towards VTS spec in the future? Cams, VTS inlet manifold, remap, different exhaust manifold? Im not sure.

What sort of thing is realistic with these 1.6 16v engines?

Hi mate, red GT's are the 2nd best colour. Have fun trying to keep your alloys clean if your rallying it lol. There a nightmare!

Aint to sure on the splitter either, maybe look better with matching skirts?

Rest looks clean and tidy tho :D

Yea I know, I had white Super T's on the fiesta so the C2 wheels are actually easier to clean!

Just found this on Cituning. Its the front splitter, since a few people where unsure about it. Atleast it is actually designed for the car!
