I'm looking to buy a 2004 C2 with 35000miles on it and the one I 'm looking at has a whiring noise comming from the transmission in manual mode when warmed up its not huge but enough to be worthy of comment , I'm wondering if this is normal or the possible precursor of the noise my money will make as it departs my wallet in transmission repairs after I buy the car ??

I've just been told that this is the auxilary belt and tensioner/s ? , apparently this is copacetic with the 'good ole' timing belt or at least you have to get past one to get to the other or something like that---
I'm now waiting to find out how much wallet belting this little tugger will be.

oh... I had my car checked over a couple of months ago and the mechanic said it was in sound condition apart from his computer picked up a slight fault with a sensor but he gave it a good drive and that seemed to clear it. My cars due a service soon so i'll ask about it then and see if mine has a similar problem... I hope not though, only done 37K miles.

Well it looks as though the little tugger will be AUS$660 fitted ferrrrk-errrt , how much that is in UK Pounds I haven't a clue at the moment probably around 260 I'm guessin , however and notwithstanding I have gone ahead with the deal the car is just so much fun to drive and I had to put some economy back in my motoring excesses. (backtraded my WRX)
