After experiencing the cold whether, my car seems to be failing. I'm getting a really bad squeeking from the rear of the car (and yes i did say rear for all of you homosexuals :P), which usually happens when accelerating after every gear change and just generally with acceleration, also i'm getting a bad grinding sound from the front left wheel area, not quite sure what it is, took it to a garage the other day for a quick drive to show the geeza the problem, he says it could be the front CV Joint that is going, however, I don't know what that means or rough cost to fix!

Anyone who could tell me more, and how much i'm lookin to spend would be fantastic.

Thx an unhappy Stew :( :( :(

CV joints are cheap to buy, its the labour that they will screw you on. And I'm sure you loved being screwed by men.

Front: probably the constant velocity (CV) joint.

Rear: could be the suspension bushes. Short term fix - spray WD40 in the bushes. Long term - replace them.

In both cases, it may be best to replace both sides as the other side may also fail anyway.
