fittiing problems? HELP PLEASEEEEE

AHHH. First install. tryna get new H/U. Ordered the adaptor from citroen, came this morning.

Disconnected Battery, Took old H/U out, no problems. Then fitted the cable and the new H/U and put it all in. reconnected battery then turned it on. works fine =D. BUT

i dont know if its supposed to do this but the H/U doesnt turn off when the egnition is off. it is constantly on. wouldnt this eventually kill the battery?

hmm isnt there a REM cable that you are supposed to hook up or something, or similar to an amp where you connect it into the cig lighter?

Thats what i would've thought too, need to connect a wire to something that only comes on when yuo start the engine. E.g. Cigarette lighter

The HU's harness should have a yellow wire (permanent 12v) and a red wire (switched 12v). The harness from Cit just twins those together so they've both got a permanent 12v supply. Thus it's a waste of time and money, I've found.

However, connect the red wire (checking it's the switched supply wire!) to a switched supply, e.g. cig lighter, instead, and it'll go off with the ignition. There isn't a switched supply in the original Cit plug at all, that I've found.

ok il jst ask. anyone got a clue how i do this then? connecting the H/U to the cig lighter? anyone got pics or a tutorial or something? thanks x
