I am hoping to get the sub box built and put together over the coming week but Im wondering what is the best frequecy to tune the port to? I dont listen to any really specific type of music but just want it to sound good

From what I've seen, most boxes are tuned between 30 - 40hz. 30/32hz if you want accuracy and going up to 38/40hz if you want loud. It also varies on the sub though.
Mine (Sag's old) is tuned to 28hz and that sounds amazing, it's accurate but can still get very loud.
See what your sub's specs/manual suggests and go off that I say.

33hz is the most common note mate.... best to go to.... but check the specs on the sub first might prefure being higher or lower but most bass notes are at 33hz..

Google that shiznit, will tell you the box sizes that you need, air volume, and how to port the box to a correct tune. Useful stuff will be doing it with my new install shortly :P
