So I finally got my new H/U from Pioneer as well as all the adaptors.
1) Citroen patch lead
2) X-44 - stalk adaptor
3) Pionner remote patch (stereo plug)
I fitted it all and H/U works perfectly, but stalks won't work.
I followed the somewhat strange instruction - to install everything BUT the remote stereo plug. Turn on radio - tune station - wait for RDS msg - turn radio and car off - plug the remote plug in H/U - turn it on.. no stalks.. :(
I have then tried it a couple of times more and in any random order - no stalks.. Then, however, I tried without the Citroen patch lead.. and stalks worked immediately .. 8O
Anyone who can help me figure this out, what to do?
I have not tried it w/o citroen adaptor and swapping yellow/red as ideally I want to use the adaptor for insurance reasons.
Thank you
ideally I want to use the adaptor for insurance reasons.
insurance reasons?!
just swop the wires over is your best bet

Yeah? Car gets stolen the might blame me for not having the proper adaptor - or is that just me being paranoid?

Perhaps it is the Citroen patch lead that is making head stalk control a headache for many users, I'll probably run into the same problems when I get my Head Unit.
If you change the wires around let us know how you get on. :)

I bought stalk controls for mine, they dont work with the Autoleads adapter - FACT! I gave up in the end, Pionneer do make stalk controls for the C2 though, try that version, bit more expensive but should work?

Ok I see, thanks
Searched for the Pioneer one, seems to be called CA-R-PI.161 - Instructions (pdf) (http://www.service.pioneer-eur.com/peeservice/instrmanuals.nsf/0/D6CCD2838CCCADB5C1256FA400321AE2/$File/CA-R-PI.161.pdf)
Found at online-caraudio (http://www.online-caraudio.co.uk/shopscr898.html), incarexpress (http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product.php?partno=CARPI161) and caraudioentertainment (http://www.caraudioentertainment.co.uk/pioneer-ca-r-pi-161-p538.html). Also available in Sweden *gasp* brc.se (http://www.brc.se/sortiment/artikel.asp?AHANR=25PI161).
I will give it a couple of more tries though..

Yesterday I removed the citroen patch and swapped red/yellow.. Stalks works and no strange eco-mod related encounters yet.
My conclusions:
cables -> citroen patch -> stalk adaptor -> remote plug -> h/u
stalk didn't work
h/u has power w/o ignition turned to access. mode
cables -> stalk adaptor -> remote plug -> h/u
stalks worked
h/u has power w/o ignition turned to access. mode
cables -> stalk adaptor -> remote plug -> switch yellow/red -> h/u
stalks worked
h/u has power w/o ignition turned to access. mode
I guess having the citroen patch behind the stalk adaptor would work too - but there is no easy way..

pioneer do 2 sets for the c2 one set the ca-r.161 is an iso set with stalk adaptor the other set is a ca-d-pi.030 this also has all the iso connectors you need as well,and stalk adator, this one is the dogs it even brings back the headup display too, easy to fit and everything works 1st time, bloody expensive though i paid £84.00 including pnp but this lead is advertised online at over £120.00 so it pays to shop around,
myc2 is a 2005 just so you know ,
