Blackpool Illuminations Switch On Meet [Fri 29thAug] TopGear

Right so Top Gears Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are switching on this years blackpool lights. Westlife and scouting for girls are also performing live.

A few people wanna meet so ill put some ideas down.

The events start early the switch on arena opens at 4pm, but the switch on is at 9:25pm. The switch on is happening behind the sea life centre/coral island arcade on the big car park. Its first come, first served so im guessing its gonna be full by time i get there. So i dont know what people wanna do?

Maybe meet up before hand? or after the switch on? Theres a car park near the pleasure beach we could meet at then maybe drive down the seafront? or theres another car park near the tower and bloomfield (blackpool fc) but that might be full.

so post if wanna meet up or have any better ideas :thumbsup:

i remember when they did a feature on the c2 against the fiesta st and when they took it too a cruise to see if the chavs would mod it up and what theyd do to it.
wonder how theyd react to the mods people have on them now

the only thing is getting parked anywhere near (the event that is :P ) is gonna be slim especially getting parked together...

Well the car park near bloomfield has a couple thousand spaces, but the arena will probly take up a few hundred. and seeing as westlife are playing then yeah, probly will be difficult.

I might have a drive over on the weekend and see what i can find.

we got any idea what time we will be meeting over the please beach car park, if we go flat out and hit no traffic we should be there by 7, gives us plenty of time before the switch on starts, we aint gonna get to the front anyway as its gonna be mega busy and if we do it just makes it harder to get out so do we wanna meet at 7ish and then wander in at about 7.45??

Im not sure about what time i can make it at, my gf is coming and sometimes she doesn't finished work till alf 6-7ish. If so you'll have to go on without me lol. but ill do my best

Yeh I wil see you there at 7, bring my girlfried and mate. So pleasre beach car park at 7, look out for a totally un-modified red c2 vts! I geuse it will be easy to spot your cars!
I might nt be able to stick around all night but we will see how it goes!

Well we didnt get to see them but apparently all 3 were there, and before they switched the lights on they had took over a pub for Top gear crew only and the police sealed it all off.

we all so heard Scouting for Girls playing... couldnt see them though lol

aye it was alright!, Got home at 2am lol i enjoyed the ride to, especially on the way back between Barnard Castle and Bishop.. not a car on the road :D

Will be going again soon though and make the full day of it.
