GAY! Red ring of death on my xbox 360. currently have it wrapped up in towels supposedly that shit helps it out. i dno. just gta play the waiting game now. anyone here ever had this problem?

We have, sent it back to xbox and they fixed it, got a months free xbox Live aswel :)

happened on my brothers he took it back cos wouldnt play any games... got a new console from the shop he got it from, they said it was a known problem and had already sent three away!

Its happened to mine twice!!!! Luckily because its happened twice they did it for free. So i now have 2 months of free XBox Live, LOL!! If you contact XBox they might fix yours for free as well because its a known problem.

yer happend 2 my mate, he tried the towel thing but eventually sent it back due to a hdd and dvd drive error

I heard that if you press the sides at the same time with a fair bit of pressure that sorts it out?!
Worth a try before you send it back I guess?!

Unfortunately the same thing happened to me like 2 weeks before the release of GTA IV, I was not a happy bunny at the time...

The whole process of sending it back and stuff was pretty efficient and had the console repaired and under my tele exactly 2 weeks later...

Required new motherboard, also recieved 1 months free xbox live for the hassle.

Got my HD-DVD drive now and a nice wee selection of movies to keep me happy :-D

also, you can look online, the flashing codes on the red ring actually give information about what the actual problem is with the xbox.

Also, the towel trick will work in short bursts until the console packs in completely. The idea of wrapping a console in towels is still quite a scary thought to me though, I would just send it back asap if within 3 years RRoD warranty. :thumb:

tried the towel stuff. never worked tho. didnt think i would
got another year warranty on the console so microsoft fixing it for free for me so all is well. gta send it off to Germany! better not fuck up :P

i got both xbox 360 and a ps3, had the ps3 5 days and it wouldnt read any ps3 game disks? better than an xbox pfft i think not!

Towel trick works!!! did both my dads and my cousins about 2 months ago and they are still going strong.. buying a ps3 is a good option also...

This happened to my dads... he phoned Xbox and a courier came to pick it up the next day from his work. He then got an e-mail to say it had safely arrived in Germany .... to be fixed under warranty ... (seems an xbox warranty is worth more than citroens.. anyway) Now were waiting for an email back to say its commin home .... Pretty good service I'd say!

xbox ftw!! the only way to get it sorted is to send it off for repair. i tried the towel thing and funnily enough it does work but not for long at all.

send it back :D

I dont actually know what mine is whether its 1080i or 1080p what's the difference?

stick ur ps3 on and goto the video settings on the ps3 it will tell u what its running there.

I got a ps3 downstairs in the front room.. xbox is with me in my bedroom.

and to be totally honest even tho online play on ps3 is free.. the xbox is still better imo. the controller feels much better too!
