anybody know what could be wrong? the air con stopped working yesterday for no apparent reason, fuse in glovebox is ok and the light on the button illuminates when turned on but the air con compressor(think thats what its called?) doesn't kick in :???:

never thought of that, but would that stop it turning on? might pop to kwikfit, they have a regassing offer on now for £40 quid i think, is that cheap?

cheers mate. like you its my first airconned car so i know nothing about it, thinking about it though, it wasn't getting as cold as it used to so your probably right about the re-gassing cheers

There is a sensor in the gas line, if you lose the gas the compressor WILL NOT kick in. This is to prevent damage to the compressor.

You have either lost your Gas
OR
The pressure sensor has gone faulty.

cheers simon, do you know where this sensor is or what it looks? i took it to kwikfit who said i have probably lost my gas but didn't have time to do a pressure test as they were about to close.

Open the windows, remove the air con unit,
25kg less later and problem solved :)

I never use mine. I switch it on once a week when outside my house so not for the pipes to go faulty

This has happened on mine, i'm just about to go and check the fuse. So far:-

1. The light illuminates on the centre console
2. The compressor doesn't kick in

it is rather expensive for a air-con serviceing from citroen :s £69 then they bound to find something wrong with the air-con unit like leakage and stuffs .

My bill total was £3xx after replace 2 air cons pipes, service and regas :s

check the aircon pipes at the bottom of the radiator, they are prone to rotting on the c2s. and u will lose all your gas this way. about £80 for new pipes + labour :( im savin up to get them :( lol
