I was going to put this into a another post. Hope the moderators don't mind me posting this.

We could make a dealer list up. Put up details of the good dealers as well as the bad dealers then should point Citroen UK in the direction of this forum.

Just a thought.

Caledonia motors: NO NO NO, they closed my local branch 2 weeks after i got my C4, they allegedly posted my V5 documents etc. for my number plate transfer, but DVLA never received them. took me 2 months to sort out my reg. transfer, lots of phone calls/time and petrol. was promised badges as they got stolen when car was on forecourt. never got them, so Dan(puma282) got them for me.

Really annoyed

Tates Citroen Crawley > Makes promises they can't deliver, poor customer service, makes lies about you to your face, dishonest, gossips about you amongst other members of staff oh and they scratch your key when they put their keyring off and then sound all offended when you ask to do the other one yourself  .

...oh and one last thing, they hired muppets to attach dealer stickers on the back windscreen... they put mine upside down!

Save your money and go to another dealer!

Citroen glasgow - Sales dept very good, got good deal and the guy who sold me the car fights with service dept on my behalf!

- Service dept not so good. Scratched one of my alloys and refused to take responsibility for it, put 30 miles on my car and refuse to acknowledge faults that are obviously there!

Over all they're not the worst tho. Last car was a corsa and arnold clark were a pain in the ass to get any work done at all!

Wlilmoths Citroen Eastbourne - RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!! Simon thinks he's a teenager!
Wilmoths Citroen Battle is OK - they did the recall in just over 15 mins, which was good.

Liverpool aigburth citroen, arnold clark i think...
theyre ok but each time i take my car in to get fixed it comes out with more problems e.g. took it in to be recalled and when i got it bk the radio didnt work.. it just beeped :( so took it back and they fixed that problem and now my back window demister and air circulation buttons dont work so its gotta go back again. My grandad had a go at them wen we took the car back for the radio to be fixed and left one of the sales guys speachless, which was quite funny.

One thing I think is VERY important to remember is when taking the car into Citroen get them to do a full walk around of the car, atleast then if there is damage when the car is returned you have some backup.

18-04-2006, 01:12 PM
Which most dealers should do anyway as part of dealer standards.

I think C2CLUB.CO.UK and C2SC should get a Citroen dealership an offer the best customer service lol

Citroen Dixon DOncaster, not too bad from what i have experienced, im sure some of the other Donny guys have had bad experiences.

They are actually quiet good, get things sorted asap and dont moan when giving you a courtesy car.

Dixon Citroen Wakefield - rubbish !! - took the car in for service, which i paid テつ」350 for, and they didnt even valet it for free.
took it in for some routine warranty repairs, about 4 in total, they only fixed 1.

Its going back in tommorrow because the accelerator is sticking down when i put foot down, and seems to have lost some power ( didnt have much to start with ) so i will see what they get done, and maybe, just maybe, i can write back giving them some praise.

When was looking to buy my GT from Brindley Citroen in Stourbridge I paid my deposit then found it テつ」1500.00 cheaper 10 miles up the road at Brindley Wolverhampton. I went back to Stourbridge and they told me even though both places were owned by the same bloke if i bought it from Wolverhampton they wouldn't give me my deposit back. I told them they were very horrible people (without using any swear words). Got it from Wolverhampton and been using them ever since.

Crawford Motors-Kent; Sales...very helpful, lovely people, led me every step of the way, and overall, a very very very good place.

Eddy Grimstead-Romford: Service, very efficent. Once they work out your fault, they'll fix it on the spot.
If not, they get the parts in in about 2 days and have it fixed within the week.
However, then front desk is a bit rubbish.

I was looking at a VTR and Springfield Citroen in Gateshead. The salesman was unhelpful. The attitude of the salesman was here is the deal take it or leave it. Wouldnt even give me any mats.

Went to Wingrove in Wallsend and the attitude was different. Couldnt help you enough. The day I went they didnt have a VTS I could test drive so they arranged a test drive the next day. Every helpful and knowledgeable staff. Just hope they are as good when it comes to after sales care.

Forgot to mention in my other thread:

Kevin Odlum, Rodeheath, near Alsager, Independant sales but Authorised repair and service: Brilliant, went in for a recall and when my Air conditioning failed, was blowing cold air on drivers side when wanted hot, but they were brilliant. No problem getting a coutesy car, i had a Xantia and C3's. Very helpfull and friendly staff all over.

Can not fault at all, at this present time.

Citroen Cardiff (Hadfield Road) are useless as you will all know from my previous thread! and i have since noticed that when they had it in they have kerbed my drivers side front alloy! Too late to take it up with them now!

My brother reckoned, that the dealership in Newport, South Wales, wanted him to put down a deposit on his C4 before would let him go out on a test drive. So he got the car from caledonia Crewe, which closed down just over a month after he got his and 2 weeks after i got mine.

I suppose this would also apply to the C2, trying it on, con merchants or they were that cocky and confident.

Citroen Glasgow -
Sales average, good deals though. Service, terrible avoid at all costs. (Miles put on the car, wrong parts ordered, damaged spoiler etc etc)

Park East Kilbride -
4 weeks with the car away to get an indicator stalk fixed.

Motorway Cars Lanark -
Service, so far has been excellent. Would recommend.

Wasn't caledonia Chester was it?

I hate them too :!: , as they had my C2 and was told they would sort out the badges, (but didn't) but paid for 1 replacement V5, i think they should have paid for both as it was Caledonia Crewe who lost them.

was about to say merthyr tydfil,

Bought my car from there, really nice sales rep.

Someone hit my wing mirror when i was parked up on my road and took it clean off, had to go back and get a sticky throttle pedal replaced anyway and they replaced the wing mirror without any labour charges (which i thought was nice).

they also sold me my car for テつ」350 less than my closest garage (swansea) would do.

Goodfellows Aldridge took nearly 2 weeks to fit a new fan belt and do some warranty work. I am still waiting for the warranty work to be completed and they didn't offer a courtesy car!! Caledonia Citroen in Chester were ok when I took my car there for it's 20,000 mile/2 year service.

Apart from the fact that they tried to charge me テつ」196 for it, when I've got Service Plus! I was told I should have informed them of this fact when I booked it in. The Service Plus card is in with the maintenance book! Do they not have eyes to see this for themselves!

Bristol Street - Leicster (Walkers Stadium) are utter sh*t

Sales is Excellent but Service Dept & After-Care is rubbish.
Been waiting 17weeks for a phone call to tell me part has arrived, for which they kept the car 2days and did bugger all....guess what, No Call!

Had the car in on plenty of occasions where no work has actaully been done. Alarm kept going off randomly so when they came to drop it off at mine the driver told me they fixed it and handed me the keys. As i out my hand out the bloody alarm went off!

Went in for gearbox upgrade, told 45mins on the phone, ended up being 2days and a week late.

Once they came to drop the car off as i refused to collect because they didnt give me a courtesy car. The driver rang the front bell at work at 6pm, just handed me the keys, no paperwork or anything telling me if works been done or not and said "These are for Mr Pancholi"and walked off. I could have been anyone and just walked away with a 2004 VTR!

Also went to get service (After Mods) and all staff, including service Dept upto managment just came out and had a good old laugh at the car.

Monkeys, the bloody bunch of them

Thomas & Davies has won awards but aftersales still needs improving and they took 6 weeks to replace an auto gear box on my brothers Saxo a few years ago. Another member on here fryer will agree with me. Sales are brilliant. When I have needed things done on the car I do phone the sales rep who sold the car to me and he gets my car sorted out ASAP. for members in around teesside area avoid springfield Darlington! rubbish aftersales service, took me nearly a year to get the squeaky brake problem sorted with them. Reg Vardy Stockton are a lot better for aftersales service, carrying out warranty work on a heavily modded car which they didnt have to do. HOWEVER they did put over 50miles on my car on a roadtest. Didnt pay petrol neither. Wasnt happy!

Just thought I'd add my recent experience when I was looking at the c2. I bought my C2 from J & A Rigbyes Citroen, Eccleston near Chorley. Family run and great service, my family used them for 16 years for sales and service. Always a good deal (boths sales and after-service).

Dutton Forshaw Preston - test drive, salesman put テつ」10 of petrol in a diesel then realised his mistake and filled it to the top with diesel. Very rude and agressive sales technique. Walked out in the end...

Bank Top _ waste of time drove 15 miles after phoning them, could not be bothered to help me in anyway so walked out after 40 mins.

If I had a dealer to use in the Preston area I would defo choose Rigbyes, helpful and family run so their livelyhoods depend on their reputation unlike the big dealership groups who don't (in most cases) give a monkeys about customer service.

WRDavies in stafford - EXCELLENT got my VTS from them, walked away very happy.

@philtol - nice to see someone from there on here!

Reg Vardy in Stoke - Poor, had problem after problem with them when i had my first C2, never again with them! (although they seem to have been taken over by Evans Holshaw now)

Any Tates garage is bad news, Portslade especially and Crawley in Sussex. Had so many problems with my first C2 and had to take it back every week when I first got it, but they never believed that there was anything wrong with it. Power steering turning itself off on the by-pass, speedo reading 0mph, Actually parts of the car flying off whilst I was driving bla bla.
When you take your car in they check the car for scratches and then wipe their fingers over it when its dirty and make more scratches.
Sales staff are all stupid w*nkers who know nothing about cars. Their attitude is poor and unprofessional. They reuined my experience of getting a brand new car and I wont ever forgive them for that!!!

Citroen in Great Yarmouth ----- S***E !!! Took my car into them because the service light keeps coming on. I picked the car bag up and they said the service guy took it for a 4mile drive and light didn't come on once !!! However, speedo read the same when I picked it up as it did when I dropped it off !!!

So I've still got my service light on, and it still tells me my bonnet isn't shut. The hunt for a decent Service Dept near me continues !!

After visiting Springfield Citroen in gateshead and establishing that the salesman didnt have a clue what he was talking about and made it blatently obvious he was giving me a c**p deal, i decided to keep looking around. A mate of mine recommended a bloke called Ray Yates from Wingrove Citroen in Newcastle, and he was brilliant, service was excellent, car is excellent, deal was 100 times better than Springfield. I would recommend him to anyone. Anyone struggling to get a Loeb, he'll get you one. He'd get you 20 if you wanted them lol.

Just got my VTS back from Helix Citroen in Chelmsford, Essex and am really really impressed. They had it for less than two days and fitted new synchro to the gearbox and fixed a bit of loose trim. Covered it under warranty, total cost 21p for a plastic clip! They kept in touch when they said they would and have done a fantastic job on the car.

On top of that one of the parts guys has been chasing citroen for a mk1 aux-in adapter for months, and (although they finally let him down!) when I spoke to him he showed me all the alternatives he'd found online. I've also ordered a part for the wiring loom, and it should be in after 1 working day - pretty impressive.

In short, a really friendly and efficient dealership - highly recommended. It helps to have good support when you drive such an unreliable car! :D

I would just like to say that i have reformed my opinion of this company. Wayne took his car in yesterday to have the paintwork redone on the boot of his car. When we booked it in last week he asked for a courtesy car but they said "you cant have one because there is a 3week waiting list".

So off me and him went to sheffield yesterday (me in my car to drive him back, and him in his car). When we go to sheffield we were waiting for about 10 minutes whilt they tried to find him a courtesy car. When they had found him one, he said he didnt need it as i had driven down to get him. If they had sorted him a car out last week i wouldnt have had to go down in my car.

Then they checked that it was booked in for the roof strip to be replaced, the boot button to be done and the paintwork to be done. They asked when he wanted it done for and he asked for it to be done for early afternoon today.

When he phoned up around 4pm yesterday to check how the car was going they told him that the car was ready to be collected and they just had to book it in for the paint job!

So, the job that it was booked in for wasnt done, and he has wasted nearly two days by not having a car. They are SO incompitent and im never going back there again. Im going to ask whether they have got the part for my key yet. I bet they havent because when i went in to have my airbag fixed they said they were ordering me a part for my airbag and they would get in contact with me when it was done. They still havent been in touch about that!

Tel: 01685 722773

Garry Horrigan
Steven Horrigan

Service Manager: Jeff Picton (He is very helpfull)
Workshop Manager: Julian Thomas
Bodyshop Manager: Paul Rudge

If any of you own Citroens in the South Wales area give this dealer a try and see what you think. Like I said aftersales could be better though.

Thomas & Davis, one of the best in the country!

This dealer is really helpfull. When the skunk had the rattle by the wheel christmas time, Mikey took it to them, someone there told him that he couldnt look at the car with lowering springs on cause it invalidated the warranty, but if Mikey was to take them of & then take it to Citroen, they would have a look at it then. I though that was really helpfull as he didnt have to do that, he could have just said "nope i aint looking at it" but he didnt :D :D.

Absoloute tosh. Your scared because your a girl. I can tell you most blokes are scared of gobby girls.

The garage will quickly whisk you off away from customers to discuss the matter where you can lay down what you want, and why. Explain to them that thousands of pounds shouldn't buy you a worthless car and incompetent useless warranty.

Be reasonable, tell them what you want, and don't let them interruopt, then allow them to feedback on what they are going to do.

Failing that, continue holaring in the showroom on a regular basis until they meet your demands, stand outside the door telling them what crap service to expect form their new car, etc.

The police will see it in your opinion as long as your not swearing, etc.

bit off topic but when i worked at netto we wouldnt give this guy a cash refund because his product was not faulty and he couldnt prove he brought it from us, so he got some cardboard off the shop floor and wrote on it in pen "dont get a refund at netto they give you a voucher to the value of" we just sat there pi$$ing ourselves, it was so funny.

i let them know of the paint fault in november when i had my service. took it in jan to get it all sorted, even took my camera with all the picks onit, wasnt enough, so printer pictures on photo paper, still wasnt enough, that Had to take picks them selfs.

inbetween Jan when i fist took it in, i had to get approval from citroen for the work. said it would only take a day, week or 2 later, i rang them for an updeate, (i gater sod all was done) got a call back later that day saying still awaiting info from citroen, at this time ide all ready arranged a cutrosay car (c1 :D) got reg and everything but needed to confirm at insurance co.

Been in once to get work done, but had to order parts for roof strip and boot button rubber thingie, i asked if it was ok to get paint work done next wednesday (Yeasterday) they said yeah, asked for curtasay car said 3 weeks wainting list, i was like (Porkey pie here). went away and came back week later, like vick said they were faffing around for a little while to get it all sorted, were i had made my own arrangements for it too.

Poor service by vardys, there becoming on par with monkey world.

gonna try monkey world on way home if not done.

belmont citroen in selkirk - put my furio in to get brakes checked over (for the 3rd time!) after being fed up with belmont in seafield edinburgh and sighthill edinburgh who just f****d me about basically. Sighthill gave me new discs but failed to replace my pads which meant i had to go back in to selkirk less than 1000 miles later for both to get changed! selkirk did a full test and found an oil leak and blown gasket head which they replaced on warranty for me - was really impressed with them - if i was to buy another citroen or a vauxhall id go to them, despite it being furthest away from me out of the 3 garages at about 45-50 miles.

Belmont Citroen/Mitsibushi (now no longer) Stirling, bought a few cars no probs and servicing all what a wanted, nothing to gripe about at all, and I like a good gripe.

Their parts dept is a bit geriatric and I always feel I intruded on their break or something when a go their.

Arnold Clark in my experience give a cheaper service but use cheap oil and not as diligent as others I have mentioned.

The Citroen Garage in Bristol-

Went in at half 12 on a saturday because they shut at 1, but they'd already gone home. So left a message with a guy in the show room. He said he would call me on Monday morning and i could discuss the issues with him.

7.50am on Monday morning i have a phonecall from an Unknown number and a voicemail (was in bed so didnt answer)

saying..

'Mr Greaves...If you could call the Citroen garage back, many thanks..'

1- IM A GIRL!
2- They rang from a witheld number and didnt leave a number to call back on..

LOL!

Caledonia has gone under lately not surprised.. so Slaters in Abergele have taken on all the warraty and most of the customers tbh.. it's mad busy.

Slaters is always top of its group in CSI scores anyway... nicely sized dealership though. Problems start arising when dealerships are scaled excessively and departments loose personal contact and the running of the dealership becomes more disjointed.

Citroen Manchester upper brook st NEVER DEAL WITH THEM.

went in looked round told him i was after a vts he tried to sell me a code. Then showed me all the vts's in the uk he could get and said i had to pay 」200 deposit to get it up to test drive to show that i was serious. For some reason he thought i was takin the piss. A week later the car was at Manchester I checked it noticed a number of things wrong even though it was approved used and had apparently had an 80 point check and all faults put right Cough Cought bollocks! I then Did the deal on the understanding that the faults i had seen were put right and that i got a tank of fuel. Picked car up and none of the work had been done and no tank of fuel. took back the next day got half a tank of fuel after being promised a full one, broken sun visor got replaced, small dent in side got pushed out a week later after the first trip to get repaired, but they didnt re-spray it. Kicked off again and he said if i wanted the re-spray on the dent to bring back the following week! by this point i couldnt be arsed. Also on the botton half of the boot there is a plastic cover which mine doesnt have pointed this out as well and he said vts's dont have them which at the time i took as the truth but recently found that it should have it but the boot plastic hasnt been drilled out for the clips which leads me to believe the car has been rear shunted and some boot parts replaced.

After all this i put an offical complaint to head office as it was the Manchester main dealers i bought the car from and they told me in politer words to fuck off as i had bought a used car and they were not responsible for the action of there dealership. Which i found pretty disgusting.

Walker Group Citroen (Fife, Scotland) Kirkcaldy branch - as useless as a 5 year old in a gun battle!!!! lad couldnt even say to me wether the 2 prices for the same part were a typo......or for different spec models.... "we're a part mitsubishi place and i never deal with french cars only proper cars like evo's etc" were his words........ WHILE WEARING A CITROEN JACKET!

Walker groups place in Cupar, Fife however, TOP RATED..... hell of a lot better, the lads know what theyre doing, they make you feel welcome, and they have people who actually understand what your on about when you say "citroen c2"

checked my gearbox free of charge, replaced the keys on warranty, and gave a FULL vehicle check every single time it was in to them, highly recommend them, but please dont go to the Kirkcaldy branch, you'll get more sense from elmo, bert and ernie than the stupid speccy twat in there!

But I've got to give Palmers at Watford a big thumbs up, as they diagnosed 2 intermittent faults, got the parts in over a few days, and then fixed it in a couple of hours the other day, I'm really pleased I took it there (after spending many hours checking everything I could think of in the engine bay,+ fuse boxes, wiring, battery, alternator, throttle body, MAP sensor, lambda sensors, the wrong temp sensor,ECU's, plugs, coilpack, inlet manifold, injectors, fuel pump you name it, but you just can't find a fault like mine had without the pucker diagnostic kit, or spending 」」」thousands replacing every likely component). Great, after owning it for 15 weeks with a rather dangerous fault, I can now start to enjoy it at last.:D

I hate it when dealers put stickers on your car!!!
