dunno what year/model yours is but there was a recall for the C2 springs breaking....... http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/searches/search.asp?cboStartMonth=1&cboStartYear=1980&cboEndMonth=1&cboEndYear=2010&cboMake=CITROEN&cboModel=C2&cboSortOrder=rec_launch_date&cboAscDesc=ASC&PageSize=10&Search=Search

I'm getting both fronts replaced hopefully. Seems to be a common problem now. I've not heard of back ones snapping before though.

Good luck.

Mine's an 04 VTR btw.

I would hope both mate as I guess one will be all new and stiff and the other is old and squashy (thats technical talk....)

See what they say but springs cant cost em that much!

I would probably mention to em about changing them both if they dont bring it up.

They've just agreed to replace both of mine at their cost, along with my locking wheel bolts, one of which has sheared off.

after reading this it seems that new shocks and springs will be on order sooner rather than later!

is it a problem for the later cars after this date or was there a change in the design to stop this problem?

Thats Happened To Me Twice Mate On The Same Side. So I Fitted Coilovers In The End Up. Cheaper In The Long Run If They Keep Snapping ha.

I work in parts for a citroen dealership, and i must admit this is really common. Not only for citroens, but for a lot of cars. Fords/Seat/Mazda/Suzuki's etc etc, ive had them all. Even a Merc A-Class haha. They just dont seem to make these parts to last. Soon they will be wear and tear items :-/ lol. But i have come across the rears going on the C2 and C3's. Make sure you change the pair aswell. They will never be right if you have odd ones on :D

and F1 cars sadly..... not had any problems so far with mine but it's a 54 plate so maybe I should check them out.

Some cars can be lucky. You wouldnt notice at all if your rears fail. But definatly the fronts! Usual issue i have to deal with is sorting out the top strut bearing, and occasionally new tyre and ABS Sensor.
