Hiya mate, by far THE BEST EVER is a tub of stuff my dad got off QVC or something I think its called Power Paste (its like a tb of white paste) its easily the best, takes it off like its nothing.

Best thing to do is use a good degreaser/cleaner like meguires all purpose cleaner (neat or very weak dilution) scrub with a good wheel brush, rinse, re-apply, rinse, then get a scouring sponge and work on the bad bits.

Then you should apply a good wax/sealent for 2/3 layers, this should keep it down in the future. Best thing is to give your wheels a quick jet blast every week or so to stop it building up..

Fairy liquid and warm water.

Isn't acidic so doesn't ruin wheels like most alloy cleaners do!

Last week i did it, spent about half an hour on the wheels with the old toothbrush and they came up like new. Shame they look like shit already :(
