View Full Version : Drinking

19-02-2006, 11:23 AM
Right. Its Sunday morning, and its the morning after the night before.

Im always the sober driver, so i very rarely have more than one beer. But last night was the 3 month aniversary of the untimely death of a very good friend, so we went out to celebrate his short life by being all together, and seeing as i wasnt driving, i thought id join in drinking ... even though i knew id never be able to keep up. I paced myself, but still managed to get really quite drunk.

Im not feeling fantastic now. Actually, I feel rough. My head feels dodgey, and sore, my stomach feels more frail than a leper's toe, i cant stand up without swaying left and right. I cant think straight, my skin is oily, and generally minging... And now Im thinking "why people go out every night of every weekend and get absolutly bladdered every time?"

So what do you people think about drinking?

19-02-2006, 11:30 AM
i dont go out much, just get bladdered at home :D

firstly- im sorry about your friend that is a terrible thng to happen,

secondly - i agree alcohol pisses me off (plus its an expensive hobby) and i feel the same ever sunday, the thinks is next sat i'll forget how horrible its made me feel and i'll get drunk again.

We all do it sadly. It's a combination of rites of passage, peer pressure, youthful rebellion, social lubrication (helps when pulling birds!) and a function of our secular and decadent society where no-one finds true happiness.

I rarely get drunk, do I Jody n Sue? LOL

I hope you're feeling better later, in time for tonight's session.

I lost a dear friend at 21 and I still miss him now. He was killed in a road accident along with his parents and uncle. His dad was driving. He left behind two brothers and a few nephews/neices and I don't think they've ever recovered from it.

Nearly 17 years old and I haven't touched alcohol all my life. Parents occasionally buy wine (a bottle of vodka!) and WKD and they keep insisting that I should try it but I absolutely hate the smell and taste of all of it. I've had sips of it but never a full mouth of it.

I have absolutely no intention of starting to drink, I need all the brain cells I can have! lol

wise move i think...ur nt missing much :)

19-02-2006, 04:18 PM
i think everyone needs to get bladdered at least once in their lives, just to experience it.

once a night for me

19-02-2006, 07:18 PM
I couldn't do that! A few times a year is definatly enough for me. When I get drunk, I splash the cash (which I dont have). Its like an illness, i can't help it!

I agree, although i can count with both hands the number of times i had a drink last year!! Never understood the attraction in getting bladdered, not to say that i haven't done it - i think everyone does at some point.
I'd rather spend 50 - 60 quid on something useful [smilie=pdt_aliboronz_24.gif]

I go out every Friday and Saturday (sometimes Sundays and Mondays too) and normally get pretty pissed. But I only ever feel tired the next day, and that is worth it for the night before, I always have a good time.

Oh my lord...i had the worst night Saturday night, boyfriends birthday, my girly mate came out too...we got (me and mate) throu 2 bottles of white wine and we are quite little and lightweights...my boyfriend ending up taking me home at midnight and unfortunately rubbing my back whilst hangin my head in the loo!! Was not a pretty sight. That is the first time in my whole 4 years of being able to drink of actually being that drunk. Im never doing it again EVER!!
I barely drink anyway but that was just nasty...i dont know how people do it every weekend!!

I go out to the pub or stay in which is cheaper, have a few beer and scotches most nights, unless i've got to drive of course.

12-04-2006, 10:23 AM
lately ive started drinking alot of whisky? dont know why though!

musicaldesigner
12-04-2006, 10:26 AM
Hope its single malt Dan, and not blended like Bells which is rancid.

Jack Daniels/Jim, beam/bushmills is ok, but thats American/or irish (they cant spell whiskey), notice the E.

Probably because whisky is more sofisticated than the lager louts

12-04-2006, 10:28 AM
Jack daniels many and lately famous grouse liquer whishy, im hooked on it!

Im, not a sad expert im a very happy one, advice on the stuff just ask, i am a connoisseur, or so i have been told.

i reccommend the 25yo highland park, pub retail £7.50 per shot at a pub near me.

Den
12-04-2006, 10:45 AM
who in their right mind spends £7.50 for a shot of whisky........stupid imo

musicaldesigner
12-04-2006, 10:49 AM
I have drank it, but my uncle was paying, and it is lovely!!!! pub prices are always more expensive for anything.

And is £119.99 per 70 cl bottle. roll on me winning lots of cash or a birthday treat to myself or from family.

£9.99 for a minature usually 2 shots.

Before any comments, I am not an alcoholic, i just enjoy a drink when relaxing and no binge drinker

The amounts that people are talking about is pure tosh!!!
I can't believe people wanna mug themselves off in 'public' so to speak.

"Half of a litre of wisky"
"50 doubles in 2 hours"
"Hammered every night, without fail" (yet my grammer and typing is always spot on when I was allegedly drunk and posting on a forum!)

Some of you lot are soooo so obvious!!!

spooky_fish
12-04-2006, 02:39 PM
this story IS true.... my mate on his birthday.... he drank 23 pints, hoonestly i was there... thinkis tho he was (towards the end of the night) leavin 1/4 pint at each pub and he was sick about 6 times so i guess it all came out of him.... appart from the alcohol....... he was a rite state, just shows how pointless it was!!!

12-04-2006, 02:45 PM
yeh i dont know anyone who has drank that amount and held it in!
