looking at getting one, can anyone explain what the difference is between

xbox 360 arcade
xbox 360 Premium
xbox 360 elite

premium has a 20gb hard drive, elite has 120gb hard rive i think and its black. Dunno what the arcade is, think it might be the cheap one without a hard drive.

Arcade is basically the old Core package, dont know much about it otherwise.

As Roachie said, Prem has a 20GB hard drive and the Elite has a 120GB hard drive. Both the Prem and Elite come with HDMI ports, not sure if the Arcade does.

If your a proper hardcore gamer (heavy user) and are going to use the hard drive a lot with game demos and in the future movie downloads etc from Xbox Live, go for the Elite. If your a semi hardcore gamer (Medium user) and want to use Xbox Live, i would go for the Premium. Due to the Arcade basically being the old Core package, I wouldn't bother unless you are just going to use it now and again.

Thanks for the info guys, how does xbox live work? you got to pay extra? whats this HDMI? Are the grapics just as good on a normal tv than a hd tv?
and whats the red light thing all about?

hdmi is well if u got a cable (hdmi) and u have an hdmi port on say a hd ready tv then if u connect the xbox up in this way the graphcs are so much more clear and sharp i have the arcade connected up to 50inch hdtv by the hdmi cable its so goood! :P


so the answer to ur other question is yes the arcade has got hdmi connection, the only thing it lacks is the hard drive but i dont really need it! :thumbsup:

and no u either connect ur xbox up to xbox live by wireless connection u attach to the back of the system! £60 i think or by standard usb into the phone line!

thought it was only the elite that had hdmi?.. besides most hdtv's have component in for HD

the old premium doesn't have HDMI but in all microsofts wisdom they added the HDMI port on the new premium console

how do you know if ita the new premium or old? also are the graphics still pretty good on a normal tv?Well if you buy one from a shop now is should be the new style premium, i've had mine about 2 years, the graphics are still amazin on a normal TV, i bought a Samsung 32" HD TV in october which does let you appreciate the processing power, i'm gettin a PS3 in a couple of months as well!!

ah ok, ive heard alot of pople had to take it back because it broke? how does it break so often? i wanted to get a ps3 before the xbox but realised that there wernt many games out for it!

That happend about a year after i got it, it was out of warranty but because xbox were aware of the issue they did it for free!! As far as i know the new consoles have a better cooling system in them. Plus it only took a week to fix, so i spent alot of time with palmela handerson instead!! lol

its funny actually cause weve about 6 different xbox 360s in my family, only 1 broke 2 weeks ago!!.. and thats the one i bought at midnight on launch day!! (2 years ago!)

The new Xbox Premium is now called Xbox Pro. Thats how you can tell if it comes with an HDMI port as standard (it also has the 20G hardrive).

i have wireless... its a pain tho it wont connect automaticly I have to test setting everytime! - but then i works and it brill!!!

The fan on the very first Xbox 360 which I bought on the 3rd December 2005 (Release date) is exactly the same as the ones they're shipping out in the Elite, I bought an elite when my xbox got the red ring of light, it's exactly the same except Black and was at the time the only one to offer a HDMI port too!

I now have the below too, it seems to help keep the system cooler!

the other day I left it on overnight by mistake, and it was in on a shelf (under the TV) and the glass screen on the cabinate was closed, so when I opened it in the morning it was going mental!!!! lol

was ok tho! pheww!

i have moved mine to the top of the unit now, it used to get hot in the cabinet and the fan got louder and louder!..

Give it two years, mine worked perfectly then just stopped one day! Made worse as it was just before Christmas. They haven't changed the console at all except for the HDMI slot so I can imagine it will happen again in a year or so. But hopefully the cooling fan will help!

just bought a xbox, its awsome! playing pes 2008 and i wana chat but i dunno how to? plugged the headset in and stuff and it says RS at the bottom, what that mean?
